My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm trying to brainstorm fun ways to spend the summer (either solo or with friends; perhaps a mix of activities). I have some ideas, but more ideas are welcome :)

Back to my normally scheduled profile... ;)

"Today is a great day for learning something new."

I saw this phrase in my fortune cookie recently (I totally agree) and Eastern Dragon is a fun name for an Asian restaurant :)

Here's another good quote:

~Feel good, be good and do good.~

I saw this phrase on the tag of my tea once and I think it's, in fact, rather profound.

If you don't feel good, you don't live good or even want to do good. If you feel good, are good and do good, then things start falling into place. Sometimes it takes time to see the fruit of your efforts though. And that's where dedication comes in.

I'm part idealist and part realist. The idealist in me gives me hope and something to strive for making a part of my life and the realist in me keeps me grounded, practical and attempting to always find solutions that really work for me.

I'm a fan of iron-sharpens-iron friendships (where both people help the other to learn/grow). I enjoy learning from all sorts of people. I'm a curious person with a thirst for knowledge, yet I prefer/favor practical information I can use in my life directly. I'm always growing and learning. Some of my fields of interest include business, computers/technology, the health/medical community, the art/design world and a little interest in cars too.

I try to have a good sense of humor about life and look for the positive opportunity in any given situation. I can be both serious and silly. I appreciate smiles, quality time/good conversations, witty people, laughter (if you can make me laugh regularly I'll be hooked ;), big/warm hugs and sincerity/genuineness/depth. I appreciate adventurous people who challenge me (gently/kindly) and give me a different perspective on things as well.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I've been on a health/well-being quest for a while now. What this means for me might be different than for some people. Feel free to ask me about it. I'm interested in a variety of personal health/well-being topics.

I think of the human body like an intriguing puzzle to be solved. Sometimes there are many ways to approach or solve a puzzle, but the reward of good or improved health is great (and an excellent thing to strive for!)

Exercise is not my main focus right now so I'm definitely not addicted to that, though I've had my fun athletic/physical activity outlets at various times in my life. Right now, I'm just focusing on light exercise like Intuflow, Tai Chi, walking (20-30 min per day/at a time), swimming, hiking, etc. I'd like to do more with this, but I'm not there yet. If anyone has any good Tai Chi resources, (dvds, online videos, books or class recommendations) please send them my way :)

I liked a book called the Tipping Point. It was interesting. All about how sometimes just a little bit extra can make all the difference ;)

TV Shows: Big Bang Theory, Outsourced, Once Upon a Time, IT Crowd, Parks & Rec, Sliders (Seasons 1 & 2). Sometimes I like Korean shows (with subtitles) on hulu. Dr. Jin was an interesting one (involved time travel).

Movies: Dark City, Gattaca, Ultimate Gift, Limitless, Escape from Planet Earth, Lorax.

Ask me if you want to know more :)
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1) love, 2) regular hugs from close friends, 3) sense of purpose, 4) family + friends/good people, 5) a brain that can learn, 6) technology such as smartphone (in my case a blackberry) and computer long-term
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
how to make the present and the future better for myself and those around me :)

I'm not looking for an exclusive/serious relationship right at the moment. I really value getting to know someone as a friend first... even a little bit. It's hard to find someone you click with; I got sick of getting my hopes up that meeting someone here would last more than three dates... if you wanna pursue me and are interested in me... please just keep this in mind. I don't mind having a date or two just to see if we click, but I don't like having high expectations initially, without much substance to back it up. I prefer a lasting friendship to a quick/short-term dating partner.
I’m looking for
  • Guys who like girls
  • Ages 26–38
  • Located anywhere
  • For new friends

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
you are ok with being my friend and aren't looking for a quick girlfriend.

I'm open to something more than friendship, but it shouldn't be assumed. And even if I'm interested in someone, it may take me time to be ready for a relationship. Assume a lasting friendship is most likely.

I'm open to good chemistry, you making my eyes sparkle, etc... but I need to get to know you first and be comfortable with you. If I get the sense that we'd be wasting each other's time, I may not respond, but don't take it personally.

In a relationship, I believe that two people should support each other's dreams and not hold each other back or try to trap them into a life that doesn't suit them or doesn't utilize their gifts/talents. That said, communication is key also to be able to find common ground. That's important too.

I try to write thoughtful messages when I write them, but sometimes visit an interesting person's profile and don't message them for no apparent reason. So if I've visited your profile and you are up for trying to write a thoughtful message, feel free to go for it :) I'm not as likely to respond to open ended questions that aren't very specific and seem like they could be written to anyone (not specific to me).

Hope all of you guys find what you are looking for (or something that suits you/is good for you), on or off this site! ;)
