My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm the youngest of three in my family, and I'm a Bay Area native, having grown up in Silicon Valley.

Last time I checked, I was an ENFJ(3% more J than P).

Summer reading: Elizabeth Warren's autobiography (40% done) , and Hatchet (finished) this summer. Re-reading The Giver, and starting Animal Farm for the first time.

In my free time, I like to play volleyball and/or tennis on the weekends, or relax on the balcony papasan with a book. Sometimes I do this in our apartment hot tub, too :) I have a painting easel that my roommate teases me about how it's collecting dust, but I'm hoping to fit in another oil painting class this fall to continue developing my skills. I'm getting my own bow soon to go shoot in the Oakland hills with some friends. Much of my free time is being spent taking care of and training my new puppy, Zoe. She's 11 weeks old, and getting down the basics!

As a natural conversationalist, I can usually talk about or quote random facts on almost anything. Even so, I genuinely enjoy doing independent things to recharge after a day full of interacting with people.

Oh, and in case you're wondering what I do - I've dabbled in different facets of education, but am most currently teaching 8th grade in San Mateo-Foster City Unified. It's my first solo classroom at the middle school level so I'm excited! Long term goal? Educational policy at the regional, or national level... slow and steady wins the race, right?

I'm up for getting to know most anyone, but you should realize, that I usually become friends with people first before things progress farther along... =)
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
- striking up conversations with people

- suggesting spontaneous trips and making them happen

- experimenting with food, and swapping food venues with fellow foodies!

- being enthralled by the outdoors every time I go

- playing games of all sorts. I prefer strategy board games myself! (Settlers, Dominion, Stone Age, etc.) Occasional meanderings into video games and recreational sports games.
The first things people usually notice about me

My smile, and my bubbly personality! :)

Books: The Hunger Games, Pride and Prejudice, Atlas Shrugged, Harry Potter, The Golden Compass, The Tipping Point, A Game of Thrones, and Sword of Truth series. Open to suggestions for a good read :) About to start 'A Fighting Chance' by Elizabeth Warren.

Movies: The Avengers, Matrix, Moulin Rouge, The Negotiator, Spiderman, superhero movies, Waiting for Superman, documentaries, The A-team, Pixar movies, Slumdog Millionaire, most anything that's not horror..

Shows: Game of Thrones, House of Cards, Mad Men, Sherlock (the new one), Firefly, Downton Abbey, Battlestar Galactica, Heroes, Friends with Benefits, How I met your Mother, Modern Family, The Walking Dead, Merlin, Once Upon a Time

Music: Music from the 60's, latin music, jazz music, instrumental music, rock, pop, country/folksy rock, international music, you name it!

Food: Anything good and tasty! I'm usually yelping for new eats and I love to cook and create things that I like from restaurants. Variety is good for me, but I'll admit I am a major fan of tapas places, and fusion foods. I also enjoy slowly expanding my palate of wines (sparkling) and beers (craft). :)
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
learning something new, daily
family & friends (of course)
interesting work
good conversation
cheese :) (I usually keep 5-10 types in my fridge at all times)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
how to be happy - simple enough, right? :)
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
out with friends, trying something new, working out, or relaxing at home with a movie, book, or good company. :)
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I have a huge scar from a childhood surgery. I'm used to seeing it, but it piques people's interest the first couple of times they see it.
