My ideal man is 5'10" tall, dark hair, blue eyes, fair, thin, and youthful-looking with Irish features...that's a description of my father, and he was, of course, my role model for men. Having said that, I will happily trade this physical ideal for a man who shares the same values and sensibilities as I do: the importance of
family and friends, the desire to make others happy, and the need to continually learn and grow. I'm looking for someone who likes to take long walks, not always with a destination in mind. Someone who likes equally spontaneity and planning.
Someone who knows who he is and still wants to be more.

I'm an educator who has worked with children of different ages and ability levels, and I find them all fascinating. As a parent of a child with autism, I was involved for many years in organizing recreation for disabled children, and I presently manage a baseball team for adults with disabilities. Volunteering is important; thinking about others makes one's own problems seem less serious.

Have great organizational skills --coordinated my last high school class reunion solo. I love to dance - for pleasure and exercise. Not athletic, however, but a true klutz.

"Brief Encounter" is at the top of the list of many films that I adore.

Have eclectic tastes in music: Green Day, Sinatra, Nellie McKay, Ella Fitzgerald, The Beatles, The Doors, Feist, Jimmy Durante, Stefane Grappelli...
I love good food!
Not a vegetarian (although I gave up eating lamb and veal twenty years ago), but I favor pasta and vegetables.
