I am a pretty, warm and affectionate woman who is also highly intelligent and articulate, as well as intense and passionate. By the calendar's reckoning, I've been in this incarnation for 67 years, but most people guess I'm in my early 50s.

My interests are many and varied, including music -- playing, singing, dancing, or listening to an eclectic mix; food -- cooking and sharing an intimate dinner at home or exploring a great restaurant; outdoor activities -- hiking to the top of a hill with my canine companion, or gazing into a seaside tidepool; exploration -- revisiting places I've enjoyed before, or discovering a locale that's new and interesting; entertainment -- attending a live music, theater or dance performance, or catching a film at the local cinema; and relaxing at home -- cuddling up to watch a movie, spending a weekend morning in bed doing crossword or sudoku puzzles, or sipping from a snifter of cognac in front of a roaring fire with you. But everything is fun with the right companion....

I am looking for a partner and companion on the journey for the rest of this-time-around. My ideal match is someone who already shares at least some of my interests, but also wants to explore mine, show me his, and try new things together. He is emotionally mature, financially solvent, and exceptionally intelligent and articulate, and has high integrity. He is neither perfect nor seeking perfection in a partner, and has learned the value of forgiveness and unconditional love. Romantic and affectionate, he is ready to connect with a woman as best friends and lovers. Together we will create a committed, monogamous relationship based on the kind of open communication, trust, and mutual support that will allow us to grow, both as individuals and partners. We will share a certain "chemistry" that attracts and binds us to one another -- physically, intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually -- even when the going gets rough for one (or both) of us. And it always does....

I quit my full-time job -- a combination of administration, communications, human resources and office management -- in the spring, then took some time off for fun and travel. Now that I'm ready to work again (just part time, perhaps?), I'm finding that jobs are scarce and the competition for them intense, but I keep hoping the "right" opportunity will come along soon. Much of my spare time is dedicated to my spiritual community, a liberal/progressive denomination bound together by a covenant of relationship rather than belief, but there will always be time and energy for old and new friends (especially YOU!). I'm also thinking about moving someplace that's less expensive and crowded than the San Francisco Bay Area. It would be nice to have a loving partner with whom to co-plan the next chapter of life!

Most of my reading is non-fiction, usually because I'm trying to learn more about something that's currently important to me. I see most movies at home on DVD; I especially like heart-centered tearjerkers (aka "chick flicks"). I'm an equal-opportunity music lover (and maker). And I love all kinds of foods and various cuisines -- especially things that are spicy and unusual; I'm quite competent in the kitchen, and love to cook something up together with a friend or lover.

Food and water adequate to my needs and good-health maintenance.
Shelter adequate to my needs.
Opportunities to exercise my brain and body.
Being part of a community.

The relationship between work and life purpose -- how to use my life to make meaningful contributions.
Love and relationships -- with friends, lovers, community.
Money -- what it means, how to manage it, how to have enough (especially for retirement).
Health -- how to maintain good health, especially as one inevitably gets older.

I am fairly independent and self-sufficient, and would rather be alone than in a relationship with the "wrong" person. However, I thrive when partnered well, and I would love to create such a relationship for the rest of this-time-around.
