Hi, my name is Don. The "MT" portion of my my username stands for Montana, where I lived from 1991 till 2008 (in Billings). I moved to Austin in January 2008.

I'm a process oriented person, rather than a goal oriented person.

I'm fairly content with my life, and I love Austin.

(So far, I seem to have told you almost nothing important about myself.)

My interests and hobbies include: dancing, poker and other card games, art, hypnosis, kites, photography, reading (especially history, autobiography, science, philosophy, and mysteries), tv (especially movies, old "What's My Line" episodes, non-fiction shows, and some dramatic series), board games.

I enjoy all types of music (including classical, pop, rock, country/western, rap, hip-hop, jazz, etc.) but am not expert nor do I actually listen to alot of music on a daily basis.

I am intelligent, honest, and touchy-feely

I'm retired and taking it easy right now - no big projects right now.

Procrastinating, and then finishing the task before its deadline.

Often my hair, after I've told them my name.

Some of my favorite books are: "The Importance of Living," by Lin Yutang, "How Bill Bartlett Became A Successful Food Merchant," by Craig Davidson, and from my teenage years: "Have Spacesuit, Will Travel," by Robert Heinlein.

Some of my favorite movies: "Rear Window," "Casablanca," "You've got Mail," "Masculine/Feminine" (haven't seen it in a long time, but it was my favorite movie in college), "How to Marry A Millionaire." One thing all those films have in common is that each has one or two scenes which I love to watch. For example, in "Rear Window," the scene where Grace Kelly leans down to kiss James Stuart in a long, slow shot; and the scene where Grace Kelly says something like, "Tell me again what you saw, ... and ... what ... you ... think .. it ... means."

My favorite musical experience in my life was being at a performance by Keely Smith at a lounge in a Las Vegas casino in 1993. I've loved the look and sound of Keely Smith since I was a kid.

I love most all types of food. Some of my favorites: Chinese, Japanese, Indian, seafood (especially shellfish), watermelon --- I'm sure I've left some of my favorites out.

Air, water, either immunosuppressant drugs or kidney dialysis (my kidneys failed in 1995 and was on dialysis until 2002 when I got a kidney transplant), food, shelter, other people.

I think about lots of different things.

Here's something I thought about after some of the okcupid tests and reading some of the profiles.

I am comfortable living in a world without meaning because the world appears to make sense to me.
