I'm somewhat new to Denver (I moved here from beautiful Missoula, Mont.), so I'm hoping to meet lots of fun, exciting or at least interesting people to hang out with. I wouldn't mind a bit o' romance though either. ;)

What I’m doing with my life
- Exploring all that Denver and Colorado have to offer. I've done a
bit of hiking this summer and am eager to do more.
- Trying to figure out what I want to do next career-wise. I fell in love with copy editing, but that isn't a viable option anymore. You can't imagine how much this breaks my heart. I'd really love to work for a non-profit and/or start doing more volunteer work.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books: I devour books and it's hard to pick a favorite when you
read that many. I'm rereading "A Complaint Free World" by Will
Bowen. I'm a happier person when I'm in the middle of that
book.
Movies: "Milk" is my current favorite. Do yourself a favor and go watch it. Then figure out what you can do to help gay rights in this country. I tend to be drawn to indie/foreign flicks, although I'm not opposed to watching a dumb comedy now and then. Laughing is good for the soul.
Music: I'll listen to nearly anything if the mood is right. Even polka. Yes, polka. Favorite bands/musicians include: Ian Cooke, Ellie Goulding, Marina and the Diamonds, Ani Difranco, Stabilo, Metric, Alan Alda, Stars, Fiery Furnaces, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah!, Morcheeba, Goldfrapp...
Food: Curry. Sushi. A good steak. Vegetables. Fruit. Guacamole.

I spend a lot of time thinking about
how to be a better person in general, but specifically a better
parent. Raising my child is by far the most important thing I'll do
and I'm trying desperately not to screw it up.
On a typical Friday night I am
reading my child book after book. I'm lucky to have a child who
loves books as much as I do.
Saturday night is my night out... Chances are you'll find me doing all or one of the following: dancing, laughing with my head thrown back, eating delicious food with interesting friends, curled up on the couch of my favorite coffee shop with a good book or mental_floss magazine.
