My self-summary

Hello! You're reading the profile of a woman who thinks she's the luckiest girl alive!

I've been to 49 of these wonderfully marvelous United States, and always find myself in awe at each corner I turn - but there's still so very much left to see and do!

Life is a smorgasbord, taste as much as possible – explore anything and everything - savor some, go back for seconds for some, glad I learned to never again try certain others, and wish I could still burn off a whole chocolate cake in hours like I could when I was twelve!

My daughter (and best friend) is grown, educated, successful, and out on her own - and now it's my time to travel and explore! As with most things in life, it's better with a special partner than alone, for sure!

I think relationships are like plants.
I have a cactus that only needs to be watered once a month.
I also have a shamrock that is happiest when it's watered every day. Good friends can be like the cactus. My relationship with my partner has to be like the shamrock. We need to pay attention to US each and every day - growing, learning, playing, working, laughing, and crying together. I'm not high maintenance, but we need to both pay attention and communicate as openly and freely and often as possible - and balance that somehow with allowing each other their own time - it's not always easy, but I wasn't born with a silver spoon in my mouth, and nothing worth having has ever come easy.

I'm ready to jump in and swim - are you?

Ok, then, let's get started.
Here's the basic facts:

About Us:
We both place a high value on family, friends, and on treating all situations and all peoples with respect and kindness from the heart and soul. We accept that we are human and will make mistakes, and we talk them through - sometimes agreeing to disagree. We are reasonably physically fit, groomed, intelligent, successful in our chosen careers, emotionally and financially stable, fairly level headed, respect each other’s need for space, enjoy cooking and eating healthy together, snuggle up for movies, smile warmly a lot and laugh a lot.

About Me:
In a relationship, I'm very affectionate, soft-hearted, tender, sensitive, protective, supportive, attentive, loving, respectful, open, and independent --- And I need the same in return.

Family and friends describe me as free spirited - unbridled - a strong survivor – an explorer - sweet, kind, honest, sincere, bright, resourceful, loyal, compassionate, a great listener, a supportive friend.

I like road trips - with good conversation, comfortable silence, or with music playing – jazz, classical, blues, or folk.

I have a generally quiet soul.
I like the sound of silence, but nothing beats the sound of laughter.

I like meaningful conversation.
I enjoy discussing just about anything except politics, as long as it's not mean spirited.

I like doing one thing at a time.
I don’t like to talk over the music or tv or other people (Loud bars are not for me).

I don’t play games.
In fact, I won’t play games - I’ll walk away and find a river to sit by.

I’m a good confidante.
I listen intently, and I feel what I hear.
If you ask me what I think, expect the truth.

I'm intelligent and logical and methodical (Oh, you noticed? Good! If you're still reading, you must like that!)

I'm not a brainiac or a walking encyclopedia.
(And I know how to google, so I don't need you to be, either!)
I need you to be articulate, but more about feeling and experiencing than fact sharing. (And it's a definite bonus if you know how to compose a sentence and use spell check.)

That's it in a nutshell.
If you’d like to see if we’d enjoy sharing a piece of road together, then please write - but please also be ready to meet so we can see what happens when we smile and talk eye to eye!

What I'm doing with my life

I work hard at a job I love - I'm an IT Project Manager and Business Analyst, and I often work from home - or wherever I am with internet access.

I try to take a walk, go bicyling, do my yoga tape, or take a hike as many days a week as possible.

And I travel as much as possible.

I'm really good at

I'm really good at being organized, and at listening to and discussing things that are going on in our daily lives.

The first thing(s) people usually notice about me

My eyes.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Food-Something we created or shared together-but not spicy. Shopping-Amazon or Tubac (Hate the malls!) When it's raining? Feel it and watch the power!

Books - I read mostly nonfiction, online. I especially enjoy biographies and self-help books. Just finished Only Love Is Real and Tales of a Female Nomad. EnjoyedL Peace at Every Step, The Last Town On Earth, Marianne Williamson's "A Return To Love"

Music - Most anything but Rap & Hard Rock - Jesse Cook, Leonard Cohen, James Taylor, Al Jarreau, Brooks & Dunn, Kenny G, Luther Vandross, Marc Cohn, Mark Knopfler, Yanni, Symphony, Blues, etc., etc., etc.

Places - The woods, the canyons, the mountains - anywhere Mother Nature has passed her magic wand over. Favorites so far include Nova Scotia and Banff. Man-made: The symphony, live theater, live concerts; Restaurants: Vivace, Rah, Cafe Poca Cosa, Red Sky Cafe

The six things I could never do without

1. My friends & family
2. My books
3. My computer
4. My car & gps
5. Mountains, Trees, Lakes, Streams, Waterfalls
6. Seafood

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Lots of things....

On a typical Friday night I am

Early to bed after a hard week at work

The most private thing I'm willing to admit here

Weird Question, after all the rest....

You should message me if

You'd like to talk or meet
