My name is Nina. I live and work in Ottawa. In my spare time I like to watch movies, read, go to pubs. My fave activities are outdoors: camping, hiking, canoeing, fishing, golf, and sitting on patios.
What you see is a vibrant 48 year old who loves life. I'm always positive and optimistic, as should you.
I also expect honesty, and I'm sure you expect the same. Which is why I must be upfront. See, I was born another gender. I've been living and working as a woman for four years. I will realize my life's dream this year when my surgery will correct a wrong.
I can assure you, everyone of my friends and coworkers see me as a woman. This is not a game.
I attend church every Sunday, but it is not important if you believe or not.
I'm a vegetarian - not because of animal rights, but because I watch what I eat. Health is very important to me. I have no problem sitting in front of someone eating meat at all.
I love to travel, having been to every province, 36/50 US states, Europe, Caribbean, Mexico and China. My favourite US city is Boston as I love the history. Plus, I worked there for a bit as well.

I'm loving life at the moment. I've joined some singles groups in Ottawa so my social life can pick up a bit more. Work keeps me busy, but weekends are about rest and relaxation. As soon as the weather warms up, I'll be camping or hiking just about every weekend.

I love historical and historical fiction. One author I especially enjoy is Maureen Ashe who wrote the Templar series set during the 1200s.
I don't have cable, so I don't watch tv. I do have Netflix as I enjoy movies. My favourite genre is foreign, independent, suspense, thriller and comedies.
Some of my fave movies are: Braveheart, Schindlers List, Saving Private Ryan, Casino, anything by Tarantino.
My favourite actors are Liam Neeson and Daniel Craig.
As for my music, I love music with a beat. I prefer alternative or alternative rock. I love Chili Peppers, SoundGarden, Nine Inch Nails, Tragically Hip to name a few.

Sipping a Cabernet at one of the many great bars in Ottawa, but I'm usually home by 9. I am not a night owl but very much a morning person.

I'm scared of sharks and confined spaces. I also cannot be around large dogs like doberman's or even a smaller dog like a pit bull.
I have 3 tattoos but they are not visible.
