I am a daydreamer, kinda geeky, and sometimes shy.

My Self-Summary

an occasional gamer and a geek
also a real music freak
I like chocolate and cheese
some wine, if you please
two cats on my bed
lots of books that I've read
a college degree
a small scar on my knee
dinner with friends
my fun never ends
have a crush on an android
and ya I'm still employed (ok sorry, that rhyme was bad)
flawless singing Roxanne
but I can't drum on Rock Band (that one was worse, let's try for better)
no kids, no drugs
no smokes or bugs
don't drink coffee or tea
but my cabinet has mugs!
love to be home
but sometimes I roam
really hate hanging on the telephone
lotions and showers and things that smell good
wandering the downtown neighborhood
all of these are just a tad
of the me that is me
and I'm not so bad!

What I’m doing with my life

I currently work in Customer Service at a Johnson & Johnson company by day, and I work on catching up on reading and movie watching at night.

Since I work very early in the morning, my weeknights tend to end on the early side, but I rarely go to sleep without reading a chapter or two of the "book of the moment."

Currently, though, I'm kind of restless and starting to wonder what else I might want to do with my life. A family and home would be nice; a partner to share adventures and (more likely) misadventures with, though I'm drawing the line at riding in a motorhome across an army tank practice battlefield. Been there, done that!

I’m really good at

puzzles and wordplay, not a bad cook (especially considering I do the half-recipe/half winging it type of cooking), not knowing what to say when I first meet people.

The first things people usually notice about me

That I'm short. I get teased about it a lot (I'm just five feet even in stockinged feet). But it's easier for me to get things on the bottom shelf this way!

For some reason, women seem to like my hair. The people at my dentist office keep touching it.

Oh, and I have sneakers with cat faces on them. Those tend to get noticed (followed by pointing and occasional boisterous laughter).

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Just some of, anyway...

Authors: Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Nora Roberts/JD Robb, Janet Evanovich, Jonathan Kellerman, Sue Grafton, John Saul, Amy Tan, Anne McCaffrey, William Shakespeare

Books: The Divine Comedy, Jane Eyre, The Bachman Books, The God Project, Watchers, The Dragonriders of Pern series, The Harry Potter series...I read a lot. I mean...a LOT.

Movies: Contact, Dances with Wolves, Walt Disney's Sleeping Beauty, Dreamscape, Poltergeist, LOTR trilogy, the original Star Wars trilogy, Weekend at Bernie's. I think I'm also the only person on the planet (including M. Night Shyamalan himself maybe) that actually liked The Lady in the Water.

Music: Brother, Heather Dale, Matchbox 20/Rob Thomas, Sarah McLachlan, Loreena McKennitt, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, U2, Bruce Springsteen, John Mellencamp, Garth Brooks, BB King...my music collection ranges from Rachmaninoff to Rammstein, and has just about everything in between. Brownie points if you already know who both of those are without having to look them up.

Should probably mention at this point that, while I'm a fan of all types of music, one of my favorites usually involves bagpipes in some fashion.

Food: Easier to list dislikes rather than favorites...allergic to tomatoes, bananas, and kiwi fruit. Don't like melon, either. I am particularly fond of cheese, Greek olives, chocolate, ice cream, shellfish, and, lately, Chevy's Happy Hour (a peach margarita and the steak fajita nachos for 6 bucks, thankyouverymuch!)

The six things I could never do without

Assuming that the basics are a gimme:

1) Books
2) Music
3) My friends and fambly
4) Kitties!
5) NASCAR naps (I don't watch the races, I sleep through them. Awesome naps.)
6) Things to look forward to (usually events or activities but the door is open for other possibilities)

I spend a lot of time thinking about

All the projects I want to get to "someday", ranging from crafts to cleaning, taking classes and beyond.

Also, I always have a song of some sort in my head unless I'm listening to music at the time (which is often anyway). I sing a lot, sometimes loud enough for people to actually hear it.

The fact that I keep tinkering with my profile information leading me to wonder if I just have too much to talk about that people don't really care to hear, or maybe it's really interesting to people to know this stuff? Or maybe just to me.

What I'm doing the next weekend.

On a typical Friday night I am

No such thing as a "typical" Friday night for me. Sometimes I'm home with a book or movie, sometimes out with friends doing "stuff" (like the haunted corn maze in Fremont, craft fairs, or assorted party happenings), sometimes I just get together with a couple people for dinner and a movie.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

My back and the bottoms of my feet are very ticklish.

You should message me if

any of the above is an interest of yours and you want to chat about it.

and/or

you're generally bored on weekends and would like to have a movie and dinner buddy once in a while.

and/or

you like bagpipes, too...hey, we're a dying breed and have to stick together!

and/or

if you're going to rate high on looks or personality...you're here anyway, why not say hello??
