I'm working for a local university and finishing my Masters in Social Work. After that I might get my PhD just so I can invite people around me to refer to me as Dr. Susie. I love to learn and I love to think I'm on the path to self improvement, even though that path gets diverted pretty frequently.

I'm naturally unconventional to a degree. I'm excellently authentic, empathetic, cynical, hopeful, obnoxious, charming and honest. I can have a conversation about most anything. Oh, and I kick ass at boardgames and proofreading and making people laugh when I'm not trying to do so.

I'm really good at being me; just like you, I'm great at some things and struggle with others.

Books: Chuck Palahniuk, Richard Russo, David Sedaris, Lorrie Moore, Sherman Alexie, Rohinton Mistry, Judy Budnitz, Flannery O'Connor, Ernest Hemingway, William Faulkner, etc. There's not a lot I don't love.

Movies: Movies put out by "Indigent" tend to be good---I loved "Lonesome Jim" (a Steve Buscemi movie) and "Sorry Haters". Anything by Alfred Hitchcock is great. I also love love love Japanese horror movies and anything with zombies. Some of my all-time favorite movies are The Shining, Raising Arizona, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Secretary, Fight Club, Donnie Darko, and anything with Alfred Hitchcock involved.

Music: Why, yes! The Decemberists, The Smiths, Depeche Mode, Aimee Mann, AC/DC, Pinback, Raconteurs, Death Cab for Cutie, Michael Penn, Beck, Black Sabbath, Regina Spektor, Petra Haden, Songs From a Random House, Tool, Neutral Milk Hotel, Red Roof Painters, Black Keys, White Stripes, Ratatat, Daft Punk and lots of other music floats my boat. I'm a sucker for fantastic songwriting and complex melody, or something raw and gritty.

Food: Anything with cheese. Seriously.

Lipstick, sunscreen, road trips, great conversation, comfortable high heels, and something to pique my interest.

When I'm going to find the time to work out, where Meg White went, how people can shop at Walmart with a clear conscience, planning a camping trip, what my weird neighbors are actually doing (if you could see them right now you'd be asking the same thing), etc.

Totally depends on how my week has been. I might just stay home and watch Hulu, go to the dog park, people watch, see live music or a movie at the Tivoli, hang out at a dingy bar somewhere, dangle my feet in a fountain, swing on the swings at Loose Park, or check out Half Priced Books. I can do the mundane or the extraordinary, both are valuable.

I sometimes wish I was a man so I could marry a wife to clean up after me.
