My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
-Updated- I've recently moved back to Philly, after a few years in LA. Overall, it was an interesting, and informative experience. I would definitely move back if I could make sense out of it, but I'd make quite a few decisions differently.

OK, beyond that, hi ladies. Thanks for taking the time to read about me. In updating my profile, I've included a new, photo, with me smiling, which is something closer to my default state. I'm native to Philly, but have lived mainly between here and NY, and still spend a lot of time there. Even though I live in Philly, I'll always consider NY my home. The two cities, though, provide endless entertainment for me - both their respective "scenes", and the people therein. I like to walk a lot, window shop and people watch. (those are things that were almost frowned upon in LA!). I like to find the nooks and crannies in a city, the cool little restaurants and coffee shops, whatever bookstores remain, and anyplace where live music is being played. I (really do) love museums, and I've found that The Philadelphia Museum of Art is not only one of the best, but their coffee shop is the same price as Starbucks, without all the noise, and they have free wifi! (membership has its privileges).

I'm managing to make a living out of my interests. I'm a multi-hyphenate, digital media producer. Put simply, I make pictures and write words. I keep my life interesting by staying interested in it, and, while I do make and believe in plans, I'm pretty quick to jump into an unknown adventure if I think I might learn something from it. I love to travel (as most people say), but haven't done it much recently. Everything has been stateside, but I'm crossing my fingers that some job will take me to Africa or Europe again. Fingers crossed on both hands.

I would really love to meet a woman that is smart, funny, creative and dazzling (in no particular order). I'd like to find a partner in crime with like interests, but I'd also like to see and learn more, and to be exposed to other things or places that I don't know about. My book is still being written, and maybe I could use a strong supporting character.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm an avid photographer and filmmaker. I enjoy covering and documenting music related events and personalities.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I've been told that people notice my smile, but I assume they notice my hair.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
My favorite books are historical, biographies about important cultural figures, musical icons and time periods. In short, I'm a history buff. THE WARMTH OF OTHER SUNS and CATCH A FIRE are two prime examples.

It is hard to come up with a list of favorite movies, but I'd have to mention Babel, Still Bill, Soul Power, The Godfather I & II, When We Were Kings, The Insider, City of God, Sin Nombre, The Lord Of The Rings Trilogy......this list can go on for a long while.

My music tastes are wide and varied, but start with the blues and Miles Davis. I'm a big fan of Nina Simone (thanks, Mom) and Aretha Franklin Lately I've been downloading a lot of mixes online from dance and house DJs, as well as some guys like Quantic, Gilles Peterson and Osunlade (a big favorite), whose categories I wouldn't really know how to name. I love all things Radiohead, TV On The Radio, and an artist named Nneka, whom I'd have to call my current favorite - Update- Hiatus Kaiyote was my favorite artist from the past year. I also really enjoyed Bonobo and, of course, Atoms For Peace. I have a rather large music collection and my tastes really are all over the place.

I've been a vegetarian for over twenty years, vegan for most of that time. I love Asian and Mediterranean first, anything else I can find within dietary considerations I'll eat. I do like to cook (I learned a lot from my dad), but don't do it often enough.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My closest family and friends, books, music, my laptop and iPhone, and adventure.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
I'm a dreamer.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
The day of the week doesn't really matter. An ideal Friday night would include live music, dancing, laughter and more laughter.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I think WHEN HARRY MET SALLY was a great film. Chick flick, sure, but I really like it.
