My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I moved to Sunnyvale in October of 2014 after living in Los Angeles for three and a half years. I came up here to work for SoundHound, a music-ID and search app. I conduct user experience research into why people identify songs and what info they want in return. I also co-host a music industry podcast where I interview tech executives.

As you can probably tell, music has played a big role in my personal life and career. I love Pandora and Spotify. I have seen hundreds of bands perform live. But I'm not, by any means, a music snob. Two of my favorite songs right now are "Blank Space" by T-Swift and "Moth" by HELLYEAH. I'm just interested in how music fits into people's lives.

I grew up on a farm next to a small town in North Dakota. My dad and brother are welders, machinists, and farmers. I helped drive grain truck this summer. I love hiking through countrysides and up mountains. Half Dome in Yosemite is brutal and beautiful hike. One of my favorite places to explore is Joshua Tree National Park.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm a writer and journalist. My first book came out this summer. It's called "Promised Land: Youth Culture, Disruptive Startups, and the Social Music Revolution." It's a collection of twenty-five essays that I wrote between 2008 to 2013 about how digital technologies have changed the way everyday people listen to and discover music.
