I am bright, dry-witted, and quirky.

My Self-Summary

There's something about the brightness of an acoustic guitar or the rich, deep thrum of an upright bass... =)

Music is definitely one of my passions. I love just about any kind of music, and I enjoy going to concerts whenever I can. At this point I've just about lost count of how many shows I've seen, but I've probably seen just about any band that you can think of that was even remotely big in the 80's or 90's (and a bunch that weren't all that big). I've fiddled around with the drums in the past and have been toying with the idea of buying a set and trying to learn to play again (edit: I've bought the drums (Tama Imperialstar (Blue shells), but for reasons beyond my control (leaks in the ceiling of the room where i had them set up) I was forced to move them...just waiting on the landlord to fix *grrr* and I'll be ready to ROCK!). I also help out a great bunch of folks who are doing their best to keep progressive music alive in the NY/NJ area, which is a lot of fun (and an opportunity to see many cool shows).

I've been an avid gamer for quite some time. I've played in a few LARPs and my friends and I have been playing table-top RPGs for many a year now (over the years we've fooled with many different Fantasy, Sci-Fi and Horror RPGs (Exalted, Warhammer, Rolemaster, D&D, Cyberpunk, Hunter, etc., etc.)). I've also played some online games (Dark Age of Camelot, tried City of Heroes for a bit, currently selling my soul to World of Warcrack...oops, I mean World of Warcraft).

I've been trying to get back into shape lately, now that I have a bicycle again. Exercise is fun (tho very tiring when you haven't done it in a while =D).

I also enjoy a good book (favorite author of late has to be Orson Scott Card), a good movie, or a good game of poker. Board and card games are lots of fun, too (some faves are Pit, Set, Phase 10, Tikal and Settlers of Catan). I recently purchased an XBox 360 and I've been developing mad skillz in Guitar Hero 3 and Rock Band 2 YAY!!!!!!!

Anyway, send me a message if you'd like to chat.

What I’m doing with my life

I'm currently making preparations to resume my pursuit of my BS in either Computer and Information Science or Management Information Systems...and looking into purchasing a place of my own eventually...

I’m really good at

Bowling, Poker, Pool, one-liners delivered at just the right moment, Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune and Name That Tune =D

Oh, and I'm quite impressive at tying my shoes...I even got an award for it from a band called Da Vinci's Notebook (if you've never heard of them, go discover them and be highly amused =D).

The first things people usually notice about me

My eyes, I think...blue and sometimes a little wide (think 'deer-caught-in-headlights' =D)...that and the fact that people think I'm a lot younger than I am beacuse I don't look my age at all (probably don't act my age, either, but that's a whole 'nother story =p).

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Hmmm...
(a) The 'Ender' series (by the aforementioned Orson Scott Card), 'The Fionavar Tapestry' (Guy Gavriel Kay), the 'Amber' novels (Roger Zelazny)
(b) Chronicles of Narnia, The Usual Suspects, 'pi' was a very interesting movie. Oh, and how could I forget 'Return of the King'?!? I'm including TV here, too...Heroes, Avatar, West Wing, Babylon 5, Star Trek: Deep Space 9, Law and Order, CSI, Numbers
(c) Dream Theater, Porcupine Tree, Spiraling, Kino, The Third Ending, Redemption, Toy Matinee
(d) Pasta (in just about any way, shape or form), Hershey's Creamy Chocolate Milkshakes =D

The six things I could never do without

1. Music, and progressive rock more specifically (mainly Dream Theater, but there are other bands, too...)
2. ShopRite brand Iced Tea Mix =D
3. CHOCOLATE!!!!!!!
4. My morning cup of tea (don't make me cranky...you won't like me when i'm cranky...)
5. A deck of cards
6. My monthly (and appearing to grow less frequent with each passing year) RPG sessions with my friends

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Mike Portnoy or Virgil Donati...I'd love to understand how they do some of the stuff that they do behind a drum kit...it boggles my mind most of the time!

On a typical Friday night I am

Trying to find a poker game or a good band to check out...but more often than not, I'm just relaxing at home...

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I'm a card-carrying member of the Freemasons (and in anticipation of the obvious questions...no, we're not secretly trying to take over the world (in fact, we're quite open about it LOL), and no, i won't teach you the secret handshake =p ).

You should message me if

Any (or all) of the above interests / intrigues / mystifies / horrifies you... =D
