My self-summary
grew up surrounded by music and movement. danced in ballet, trained in martial arts. got injured so no more dance-y. found yoga. started teaching. continue to love music and movement more each day. still perform and produce.
What I’m doing with my life
yoga, and lots of it.
sometimes performing.
sometimes producing.
I’m really good at
loving my puppies. supporting my friends. making people laugh.
The first things people usually notice about me
probably my hair - it's really long.
or that i'm probably laughing hysterically...
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
books: so many... seriously, my apartment is like barnes and noble..

movies: aladdin, loved an american tail (fievel movies, haha!) as a kid, about a boy, billy elliot, black swan, bourne trilogy, eat pray love, elizabeth, enlighten up!, eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, harry potter, little voice (points if you know this one), lord of the rings trilogy (yes), love actually, mr. and mrs. smith, newsies, ninja assassin, shakespeare in love, stage beauty, underworld series, vera drake, x-men series... and the 200 more in my apt.

shows (theatre): since the background's in performing, i thought i would distinguish...
musicals- aida, billy elliot, book of mormon, in the heights, jekyll & hyde, last five years, les miz, love never dies, martin guerre, pirate queen (yes, i loved it), shrek, urinetown, the wiz... and more.
ballets- the dream (abt- amazing), glass pieces (nycb- almost gave me a panic attack watching the counting), la bayadere, romeo and juliet, and i will admit to almost hating giselle
plays/playwrights- edward albee, alan ayckbourn, henrik ibsen, tony kushner, harold pinter, anything shakespeare

shows (tv): absolutely fabulous, arrested development, being human (uk), criminal minds, golden girls, grey's anatomy, house md, demetri martin, sherlock, tosh.o, vicar of dibley... anything with dawn french or jennifer saunders

music:
classical/symphony - mahler, mozart, scarlatti, schubert, tchaikovsky, vivaldi... opera - rossini, mozart (worth repeating), anything sung by cecilia bartoli, renee fleming, bryn terfel or jonas kaufman... yet i also love eclectic world and fusion like zoe keating, rock, alternative, new musical theatre composers - scott alan, kerrigan-lowdermilk, jonathan reid gealt... the normal pop stuff - adele, antony and the johnsons, judy garland (not gonna lie), josh groban, audra mcdonald, sara ramirez, rufus wainwright, and a ton of other stuff..

food: korean, japanese, thai, or any asian cuisine really, french food, cherry coke zero...
I spend a lot of time thinking about
what the world would be like if it substituted laughter for judgment... or maybe acceptance for hatred... or possibly how to use two ipods at the same time and be able to listen to rossini in one ear and katie thompson in the other (points if you know who she is)... or even whether it counts as my meditation practice if i'm lost in mozart for half an hour... (never said i was sane)
On a typical Friday night I am
teaching. then relaxing... seeing a dance concert (ballet or modern) or enjoying an opera/symphony/play/musical... maybe dancing at home with the dogs, while my friends try to figure out if it's puppy abuse to make them dance with me... possibly figuring out what to watch in my hulu or netflix queue... or maybe at a certain friend's house enjoying her dvr!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
i wanted to be peter pan for the first ten years of my life. then i decided i'd make a better captain hook.
(more points if you get that this is humour)
