So you've got this book, and all you can read right now is the cover. But the cover will have to do, because you're just browsing the library right now and you need to decide if you're going to really dig into it or put it back on the shelf for someone else to find. So ignoring the advice given so many times, you read the cover and see if it's one you want to take home. Hopefully, it's a well written cover.

I have been described as awesome. I wasn't trying to be awesome, I just sort of woke up one day and I was. So I roll with it and try to be the best awesome I can be, giving 110% one day at a time.

I really like helping people. It gives me tremendous personal satisfaction to make other people's lives easier or smoother, or help them learn something new. I like being supportive and encouraging. I was a teacher once, and I will be again one day. I love working with children, and they love me.

I have this uncanny ability to understand people. Most people are an open book to me, and it's like I can see all the gears spinning in them and how they mesh together and why they mesh like they do. There is the rare person I can't read at all, but the majority of people I can see right into. It's useful, being able to find a reason to have compassion for someone even when they piss me off. Like all my super powers, I only use this one for the betterment of humanity despite the occasional temptation to crush some moron who desperately deserves it.

I am funny as hell. Making people laugh is so easy, and I have an infectious laugh that makes other people laugh even more, so being around me is always a good time.

I can quote movies like you wouldn't believe. I inherited this bizarre superpower from one of my parents, not sure which, probably both. If you can quote movies too, then we're destined to be together. Earn more sessions by sleeving.

I tend to be a bit of an organized neat freak. I love organizing things, that's another source of satisfaction for me. I don't mind if other people aren't, I'll go over to friends houses and organize their stuff, just because it's fun. No one's complained yet. Or if they have, I didn't listen.

I don't really care for sports. Never understood the appeal, although I don't hate them or anything. I've never been a good team player, I'd rather play on my own team. That's part of the reason I did martial arts for so long, fits my mindset better. I have to admit, I do like watching women's volleyball. Don't look at me like that! I know plenty of women who watch pro football for the same reason. You're just as human as I am. :)

With one exception, I'm pretty staunchly liberal. It's just the only thing that makes any sense to me, even though some of the extreme liberal viewpoints are just as bad as the extreme views of the other side. I'm sad to see that the conservative party has been hijacked by crazy people, it means that level-headed, reasonable conservatives have no real voice in the system unless they want to join the ranks of the insane and the hateful. It's a mess, and it scares me.

I'm also pretty feminist in my way, in that I am sickened and shocked at how 51% of our world's population is treated. That's the 51% I like best! The fact that women still have to put up with as much as they do just boggles me. The last time I checked it was the 21st century, aren't we done with all this yet? Maybe we can put all the rapists and abusers and misogynists on a spaceship and they can go and live on their own planet and treat each other how they want and leave us in peace. And hey, if that ship just accidentally happened to get flown into the sun, bummer. Better luck next time.

I have an overdeveloped sense of justice. I have a zero tolerance policy for bullies, abusers and similar type thugs. It gets me into trouble sometimes. I don't intend to stop.

I'm constantly growing and transforming, and it's great. I'm seriously in the best time of my life right now, and it's getting better every day.

I work in the IT dept at a company that owns health clubs around the country. It's a total dream job for me, and after all this time I still look forward to getting up in the morning and going to work. And I get paid for it too! Score!
Outside of work, I'm a pretty big nerd, honestly. And I love every second of that too. I watch movies, tv shows and anime, play board games, video games, roleplaying games, read books and comics and engage in other intermediate and advanced forms of nerdery. (Is that a word? It is now.) I'm also finding that I'm turning into a gym rat. I'm not in super-awesome-amazing shape (yet), but I'm better than I've been in years. It's one of the side effects of a free gym membership, you get hooked on going in and working out. I'm not up to twice a day yet, but I'm thinking about it. I think I'm more likely to get back into martial arts in the evenings and leave the gym for mornings. Besides, I'm watching my way through the new Dr Who while I'm on the treadmill and that's hard to do in a martial arts class, you'd get whacked in the noggin.

Public speaking, actually. I love being on stage in front of people, it's a blast. I don't have a problem talking in front of a crowd, it's getting me to shut up that's the trick.

My height. I was once referred to as "insanely tall", which I think fits.

Books: Just about anything sci-fi or fantasy, although I have my favorites. I also enjoy history texts, especially works illustrating how the people of the various ages actually lived, not just the (in the author's opinion) significant events that occurred during those times. I keep buying William Gibson's works, I just love how he shapes words. I religiously buy everything Terry Pratchett writes, even if I don't end up liking it.
Movies: Once again, sci-fi, fantasy and general nerdery (I told you, it's a word now.) Some of my favorites include V For Vendetta, Scott Pilgrim vs The World, The Avengers, and Taken. However, I really really love movies that leave you thinking afterward, like 12 Monkeys or Inception or Dark City or Equilibrium or Looper.
Shows: I don't really watch TV at all, and apparently I have missed out on a great deal over the last decade or more. I'm trying to slowly catch up to things like Battlestar Galactica or Heroes or other cool things, but I'm pretty dang behind, as you can tell. Part of my gym plan is to get a tablet and just stream things on Netflix while I work out. I currently do it on my phone, and it's not cutting it anymore.
Music: I'll listen to almost anything, and I have a wide and varied collection. I've been a KMFDMfan for years upon years, but I can honestly say my favorite singer is P!nk. My lust for that woman's mind body and soul knows no bounds. (Yes, I know she's married. Whatever. I could take him.) I have a lot of soundtracks of all kinds, I really love those. I've been getting into dubstep and electroswing lately as well. The only music I cannot stand is country/western, you lose IQ points the more you listen to that shit.
Food: I'm a carnivore. I make no apologies and I don't mind if you're not, it's all good. If I could go out into the wild in a bearskin and defeat my meat in one-to-one combat armed with a stick and a rock, I would. It would be more fair that way. Ironically, I hate camping.

My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives. Seriously though, I have any number of things I'm mentally juggling at any one time. I tend to be an intuitive thinker, so it takes a while for something to come out once I throw it in the pot in there. But what does come out tends to be pretty freakin' sweet. When trying to solve a problem, I try to think 2-3 moves in advance, helps to know what you're going to run into. I listen to the little voice in the back of my head, or I try to.

Probably gaming, or hanging with friends. Or gaming with said friends, that's pretty common. I might be in the gym, I might be at a movie, I might be asleep in bed like a loser. I guess there is no typical Friday night for me.

I have far more knowledge of the Star Wars universe than it is probably wise to admit to publicly.

I would love to find the rare and elusive Lady Geek, a specimen best spotted in her natural habitat but occasionally found camouflaged among the mundanes of the world, trying to fit in and pass as one of them. A woman like that would be worth settling down with and raising a happy family of little geeklings of our very own. Yup, I just made up another word.

Honestly, I know a lot of attractive, appealing, sexy people, and none of them are attractive appealing or sexy in the exact same way. The things I find attractive, other men usually don't. I don't have a list of requirements that people must meet, although I do have a short list of dealbreakers. If we have anything like a positive matching score, you're probably fine. I'm willing to be patient with a lot of quirks, as long as you're patient with mine. I guess this is a long way of saying "try your hand". I promise that at the very least I will write you back, because I hate it when people just delete my messages without a response. A wise woman once said, "If you don't ask, the answer will always be no."
