Public school teacher trying to heal our fractured world & make
it to the weekend. I enjoy woodworking and make my own musical
instruments. I used to have a dog, but that little dude is gone. I
like flowers, especially gardinias.
What I’m doing with my life
On the grind. Teaching kids how to think for themselves. Making
connections, having real conversations. Spreading good vibes and
plotting my next arrest.
I’m really good at
Deescalating conflict. Looking at an issue from multiple
perspectives. And educational hip hop. Writing raps about
punctuation marks, literary terms, and improper use of smartphone
The first things people usually notice about me
My hair. It grows fast & gets kind of crazy
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Catcher in the Rye
The Crying of Lot 49
Guns, Germs & Steel
Mississippi John Hurt
Les Baxter, Martin Denny
90s hip hop
No katsup or mayonnaise, please
The six things I could never do without
Beyond the bottom rung of Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs (water, food,
shelter, warmth, safety from predators)
3) Silent contemplation
4) Access to books
I spend a lot of time thinking about
"If I'm not for myself, who is for me? If I am only for myself, who
am I? If not now, when?"
On a typical Friday night I am
Slashing tires, rolling drunks, and beating up small children...
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Is my exhaustion the result of an insane workweek, or is it Low-T?
You should message me if
The stars are aligned & the moon speaking to you. Or if you
feel like playing some tennis.
