My self-summary
I'm a Bay Area transplant from the Midwest who works at a local tech company. I'm looking for someone who can keep me laughing and enjoy life as much as I do. I'm looking for joy.

I love watching baseball and football, and as a Notre Dame and Detroit Lions fan, I'm used to disappointment. ;)

I train for and participate in triathlons in my spare time. I've also completed a half-marathon, but tris are better. (I prefer triathlons because why suck at one sport when you can suck at three?)

I like good grammar and good wine, and find that neither one makes me an asshole or a snob.

I'm a sucker for lighthouses, bodies of water, and the moon. I can't stand most of the questions this site asks.

Please make me laugh.
What I’m doing with my life
Working a job I love, spending time with friends, occasionally updating this profile but always feeling awkward when I do it.
I’m really good at
I will never ask you "What are you thinking?" I hate that question.
The first things people usually notice about me
My smile, my tendency to laugh easily, and my ease in meeting new people.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: I spent my high school and college years reading a lot of Steinbeck and Hemingway. I'm still a huge Hemingway fan. But I also enjoy a wide variety of authors from Stephen King, Bill Bryson, and J.K. Rowling. I'm always reading at least one book. I reread the Harry Potter series every summer.

I love movies! I watch a lot of Netflix, and would like to get to the theatre more than I do. Some of my favorites: Love Actually, Walk The Line, Casino Royale, Star Wars (not the prequels!), Lord of the Rings, more.

TV shows: The West Wing, Newsroom, (Ok, any Sorkin) 30 Rock, Orange Is The New Black, How I Met Your Mother, Parks and Rec, Breaking Bad, Sons of Anarchy, Mad Men, Weeds, Jericho, The Wire, The Killing, Walking Dead, House of Cards.

I love cooking! I'm a great cook, I just don't do it enough anymore since it's just me. I also love eating out.
The six things I could never do without
Sunshine, wine, travel, books, friends, football. If I get a seventh, coffee. (Is that being greedy?)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Why didn't Notre Dame show up to that game against Alabama? What will make me enjoy riding my bike more? Why can't I get Bell's Oberon in California?
What should I say in my message to a guy to get him to respond?
On a typical Friday night I am
Hanging with friends, drinking wine, having a great meal, and wondering why I never meet anyone when I'm with married people all the time.

In the summer, I'm looking forward to trips to the coast, camping, or anything that gets me outside. In the fall, maybe at my friends' son's high school football game. I don't tend to meet a lot of single men there.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
It's not terribly private, but I like to let people know that I'm divorced. But it wasn't a horrible break-up, I know what I want now, and I'm ready to meet someone who will make me happy. (OK Cupid doesn't have an obvious place to disclose this.)
I’m looking for
  • Guys who like girls
  • Ages 32–42
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
You liked my profile, or would like to get to know me. Please say more than, "Hey girl" or "Damn!" Those lines are proven not to work.

Seriously, if we are a good match, I'd love to hear from you.
