My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
*Happily taken! Glad to chat as friends if you're interested in the same things I am though.*

Hey! So, right off the bat I'll give you one guarantee: you will likely never meet another person -quite- like me. That said, I think the person I -am- is pretty freakin' awesome, and if you give me a chance and read on I think you just might too.

I'm a very convicted, independent, and passionate person. I take pride in trying to be the best person I can be and working to make myself and the world around me a little bit better everyday.

Volunteering to help others is something I especially care about. If I do nothing else in my life, I want to have a positive impact on my community and the world. I'm finally at the point in my life where I can start getting heavily involved in this belief, and I'm incredibly excited about it. I'd love to find someone who feels the same.

Beyond that, I have -waaaay- too many interests for my own good. I'm a technophile geek nature lover who also has passions for art, humor, and cute fuzzy animals. Ok, the not so cute and fuzzy ones too; as long as it's not actively mauling me I probably find it cool.

Geek is a label I wear with pride. A love for the geekier and nerdier side of life is a trait that's very important to me in any potential partner. I would love to meet someone I can share my hobbies and passions with. Below, I've created a short quiz to help determine if that potential exists. If you've ever experienced any of the following symptoms it's a good sign that you're awesome and we'd get along famously:

1. You feel a calling to slay virtual villains and save digital denizens.

2. You find that you'd rather spend time at a library than a bar.

3. You've ever blurted out the the phrase "Great scott!" when excited about something.

4. You have an unnatural, but -totally- understandable, desire to one day own a Pembroke Welsh Corgi.

I may also be a slightly hopeless romantic who loves cheesy sentimental crap, but please don't hold it against me.

A lot of people would describe me as quiet, but it's only true to an extent. I'm definitely not the most outgoing person, but I try to be immensely open, dedicated, and generous in all things. When I care about something or someone I make sure it shows. I can get along with just about anyone; I'm a quiet people person. When I get comfortable around someone I can be really playful and goofy though. I try not to take myself too seriously.

What I'm I'm looking for is a woman who places value in a relationship of mutual understanding and respect. Someone who is able to communicate their feelings to me in a calm, open manner whenever she needs or just wants to.

The kind of woman I'd like to meet handles herself with kindness and dignity; I can't stand pettiness, rudeness and childishness. Someone who can also be comfortable and happy with us being together no matter what we're doing, super exciting or not, and who I can be proud and grateful to have had the opportunity to share life with.

And very importantly, someone who is genuinely interested in getting to know and communicate with me as well! I don't like to feel as though I'm the only one initiating contact. It makes me feel like an annoying gnat you really would rather not talk to. And it's fine if you'd rather not, just let me know and we can move on rather than wasting each other's time. I think a real relationship, whether just a friendship or more, requires effort from both sides. I'm ready to commit to that effort and appreciate others who are willing to as well.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm a Computer Programmer in the Air Force. It's a childhood dream that I'm extremely proud to have achieved. I work hard and have done very well.

Pursuing my college education through the Community College of the Air Force and the school benefits afforded to me by my service is important to me as well. My education is one of my top priorities and something I plan to continue pursuing for years to come.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
More than anything else, I'm great at knowing how to do the right thing and treat people with respect and dignity. I like to think of myself as a good person, and I actively work towards that through my words and actions.

I can also probably kick your butt at video games or board games! Feel like you have game? Wanna prove me wrong? Challengers accepted.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I think the first thing people notice is how quiet I can be. I'm not a very outgoing person, but I can get along with anyone as long as they're willing to accept that I can be a bit quiet. I'm very accepting and actually quite open regardless, I'm just not very loud about it most of the time.

I also hear that I look young for my age. I've pretty much gotten used to people assuming I'm still in High School. An unfortunate quality at 25, but being a bit younger looking as I continue to get older will only become more and more awesome.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Movies - Back to the Future, Jurassic Park, Shaun of the Dead, Inception, Dredd, Cloverfield, Ghostbusters, Wall-E, Watchmen, An American Tail, The Hangover, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, and The Secret of NIMH.

TV Shows - The Office, Fringe, The Daily Show, Survivor, Tosh.O, Scrubs, Once Upon a Time, Fullmetal Alchemist, Robot Chicken, The Twilight Zone, and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Can also watch just about anything on Discovery, National Geographic, History, and the like. Competitive reality TV is a guilty pleasure of mine, but none of that stupid stuff like Jersey Shore or Teen Mom.

Books - I don't read nearly as much as I should. I like horror / mystery, sci fi, fantasy and graphic novels though. Love Watchmen, Ender's Game (Only read the first book in the series so far), and, to go a bit more classical, Hamlet.

Music - I've been told I listen to hipster music, but I'm not one! I swear! My taste is pretty varied but I'm also very picky. More into indie rock, indie pop, folk, and some electronic music than anything else. Favorite bands are Of Monsters and Men, Daft Punk, Fleet Foxes, Foo Fighters, The Shins, Ellie Goulding, La Roux, Tegan and Sara, Two Door Cinema Club, Gorillaz, fun., The Decemberists, Katie Herzig, and Imagine Dragons. Maybe I'm just a hipster in denial...

Food - Up for just about anything! Love trying new things.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. My family. My mom and dad have always, always been there for me and it's only because of them that I've gotten to where I am today. Couldn't love them more.

2. My geeky interests. I'm a techie and a nerd. It makes me happy, and anyone I get into a relationship with needs to be willing to accept that. I don't let it get in the way of the really important things in my life though. I don't like the lazy geek stereotype.

3. A little bit of space to do my own thing. I'm not looking for a super clingy relationship. I want to be together most of the time, but I still need a little time to myself.

4. Pets. Animals are an important part of my life. When I have a pet it's like a family member to me, and my perfect life includes at least one pet.

5. Volunteering. I'll spare you going over this one again. It's just very important to me.

6. Good music. It motivates and inspires me.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Living up to being the person I want to be. I feel I'm close already, and I've already lived a life I can be proud of, but I know I can still do more.

So many great people in my life have put a lot of love and effort into me, and I try to repay them for that by being someone they can be proud of and someone I'm proud of myself.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Either going out to see a movie or relaxing at home. I work hard during the week and like to just chill.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I love to sing out loud to the radio when I'm driving in my car alone even though I'm a TERRIBLE singer. Not American Idol personal 15 minutes of fame about how bad you are bad...but...yeah. Windows are definitely kept rolled up...

Also, my iPod is full of classic Disney songs. Have a problem with it? Hakuna Matata the heck down.
