I grew up in a small town in Michigan and went on to study at Northwestern University (near Chicago). There, I worked intensely for the school radio station and studied Spanish and music in addition to my major. I have interned or worked at several public radio stations, and for a long time, I thought God was leading me to a career with National Public Radio. However, before my senior year of college, I felt a calling to the music ministry. God blessed me with wonderful teachers and friends and I was able to get into a Master of Music in Sacred Music (voice emphasis) program. I'm also working on a second masters in liturgy and music (liturgy emphasis) during the summers. Someday, I hope to serve God's people however the Lord wills. I think that will mean working as a full-time church music minister, but I'd also like to work as a part-time or freelance radio journalist and/or a professional chorister or community choir conductor. In the end, though, I think the most important thing about me is my faith. I try to dedicate my life to doing God's will and contributing to this world the best I can. I want to serve others and spread the unity and love Christ taught us.
