My self-summary Propose an edit

I love to learn and to try new things. Music is a must. Friends, family and life. I believe anything worth my time is worth doing to the best of my ability. Doesn't mean I expect perfection - just honest effort. Tired of the games people play but still hopeful and usually positive.

I have a warped sense of humor and I'm a bit feisty. I'm not complicated, nor do I play games - so what you see is what you get. If you want to know something about me all you have to do is ask.

I have more depth than how it may first appear. I've been fortunate enough to have had an interesting and varied life. More than just a tomboy.

I have a brain (and I'm not afraid to use it!), a backbone (can we say stubborn yet easy going?)... I'm a paradox of dichotomies - yeah, figure that one out. The NV in my name is for the state of Nevada, not envy or being born there - which I wasn't. Nevada and Sunshine are two of my nicknames... And like a fine wine, I am truly improving with age.

I'm looking for a custom fit in an off the rack world. I don't think that's asking too much. Or is it?

What I'm doing with my life Propose an edit

I'm thinking about learning to ski. Yeah I live in the Pacific Northwest by all kinds of skiiable mountains and never down hill skiied in my life.

Living life to the best of my ability and not letting the negative crap get me down. Raising my son the best way I know how. I made a change in my professional life. (Dude! I am out of the car biz.) Some say I have lost my mind while others are almost giggly at the prospect. Regardless of which school of thought, mirth or sanity loss, I'm working for a company that will actually give me a chance to move up.

Making people laugh with my off the wall sense of humor and observations.

Singing in the car, perhaps talking a bit too much (but I can hush up), finding the humor in most any situation.

Understanding and respect of and for others.

Finding solutions to problems - not always by linear thinking. Usually not by linear thinking. Yet in the end it's logical, so does it really matter?

Misc. stuff: Peeling bumper stickers off - in one piece leaving little/no adhesive behind, moving any vehicle into or out of odd parking spots & situations (work for a car rental company and you too can learn some really odd, but not really needful, little skills).

Physical or other?

Physical: My smile, height, confident way I carry myself, freckles... at least this is what I've been told. (We won't mention the very obvious - short spiky red hair.)

Other: quick wit, ability to listen and get to the heart of the matter, sense of humor and self, lack of vanity, very warped and sometimes irreverent sense of humor.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food Propose an edit

Books: sci-fi, history, geology, philosophy, anything by McCaffrey or O'Connell, Clive Cussler and what ever strikes my fancy. All Bloom County books. Sun Tzu's Art Of War (more than once). Plato's Five Dialogues (rereading actually)... and will be picking up a copy of Aristotle's works soon as I believe I've missed something.

Movies: Blade, Bourne, Second Hand Lions, history, Sneakers, Steel Magnolias (for several reasons)

Music: my taste in music is rather ecclectic - pretty much all over the place. Def Leppard, Disturbed, Trace Adkins, Harry Connick Jr, The Eagles, Nickelback, Phil Collins, Santana, Pink... easier to say I can't stand rap and opera does nothing for me (opera may be taken out of this part - hey, things change and so do I). Most anything else I'm open to.

Food: I like good food, not over spiced pap.

The six things I could never do without Propose an edit

Things as in objects or ideas? My family, music, tea, my bike, stability (doesn't mean I want a stick-in-the-mud life), laughter... do I really have to limit this to six? Tough. I'm not going to... books, my iPod, letters & lists, where is my pen?, intelligent conversation, my brain as well as my mind...

Usually in jeans. I'm just as comfortable in dressier clothes as well. Hanging out with friends, playing pool, drinking a Guinness, enjoying conversation (even those open-ended free-association types), messing around online...and what is typical? ...Now that I work Saturdays, most of the time now I'm home :P
