I am really, curious, and inquisitive.

My Self-Summary

I hate these things. It's so hard to define oneself. That's not to say that I don't know who I am. I'm a very introspective person. I like music and movies and camping, but so does the majority of the people who fill out online profiles. Putting those down is like saying I like to breathe oxygen! Duh?

So what does that leave? Well, I enjoy reading. Again, many people do.
I'm also big into Mythology.

I have a variety of other interests, I suppose, but I don't feel that just listing interests shows anything about who or what I really am. I think the best way to discover these is to talk with me. Ask me questions and I'll give you honest answers every time. Promise. Nothing is too personal.

One thing I -can- say about me, I suppose, is something that someone else once told me: She said that I would make a good John Connor type figure. I felt that being told I could lead a resistance against an army of sophisticated cyborgs and robots in a post apocalyptic future was quite the compliment.

I also recently took a Meier's Briggs personality assessment, and was rated as an INFJ; The Counselor. Apparently only 2% of the population have this personality type, but it also fit my personal view pretty closely.

Hope to hear from you.

What I’m doing with my life

By next fall I intend to be enrolled in school and studying psychology as my major, with a minor in either humanities or human studies.

I’m really good at

Listening to people. I always have been. That's part of why I want to study to be a psychologist. I think anyone can hear, but not everyone can listen. Even fewer can offer sound advice without letting their own ego play into it.

I also like to think I'm a pretty decent cook. I'd never call myself a chef (though other people have) mostly because I believe a chef is someone with true talent, whether educated talent or natural, surpassing my own skills. That's not to say I'm not good, I'm just not amazing.

I'm great at sleeping. It's an art, you know.

I like to think I'm decent at video production. Especially post-production/editing.

The first things people usually notice about me

Would probably be my eyes. I'm told they're very intense. Also have heard they appear compassionate. They say that eyes are the gateway to the soul, and I've been told that my soul is old. Perhaps there is something to it, no?

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Let's see. My favorite Book is Cryptonomicon by Neal Stephenson. I'm also a fan of anything by Neil Gaiman as well as William Gibson. I love the whole cyberpunk genre, as well as steampunk stuff. Joseph Campbell writes some good books about the subject. I especially like to study comparitive mythology; seeing the similar myths in cultures around the world. I enjoy reading. Again, many people do. I specifically enjoy Sci-Fi and Fantasy genres though. Especially what would be considered 'low' fantasy. Things like Terry Brooks' Knight of the Word series. The same could be said about my TV interests, though I also greatly enjoy anime. In fact, you could say I'm something of a Nippophile. I'm into Japanese culture, philosophy, and history as well.

Favorite movie would probably be The Princess Bride. Great film. I have several others that are good, but yeah, that's likely the top. Also love Dark City, Gattaca, Braveheart, Trainspotting, Moulin Rouge, Chocolat, V for Vendetta and about a gazillion others.

My favorite musical talent would be Tool. After that, I tell people System of a Down, Tori Amos, and Cake, in no particular order. So as you can see, I'm pretty ecclectic as far as that goes. I do have a new favorite song, though, that doesn't fall into any of those artists: Ready For Love by India Arie. It's a truly endearing and sweet song.

Food. I love food. As I said, I enjoy cooking. I love Hispanic food, as well as Italian, and can cook both proficiently. I also love 'Chinese' food, but have yet to learn to prepare it personally. Take out boxes rule. I'm not the biggest fan of sushi, but I'll partake from time to time. I also love a good cheese, especially with a matching wine. I think the right cheese can accent an otherwise blazé dish exciting.

The six things I could never do without

Words. Mobility. Dreams. Passion. Beauty (in all its many forms). Books.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

The past, the future and how the present bridges them together.

On a typical Friday night I am

Doing the same thing as every other night, Pinky. Plotting to take over the world.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

Is that I am a human being, and have made some mistakes in my life. They're mistakes I'm working on rectifying, but it's going to take time, and so I'm looking for someone willing to make the journey with me.

You should message me if

You have patience, passion, caring, manners, intelligence and beauty in your heart.

You should NOT Message me if your profile pictures involve you actively drinking. Holding a beverage at a party is one thing. The 'action shot' is tasteless.
