My Self-Summary
New Yorker by choice
Intelligent by design
Loved by grace
Happy by decision
Adult by age
Kid by career choice
I love books more than TV, letters more than text messaging, Jesus more than religion, my family and friends more than my career, my career more than creature comforts, dogs more than cats, coca cola more than alcohol, and music more than most anything. =) If that makes me "old fashioned" - then I'll wear that moniker with pride.
I can tell you all about what I think about me, but that seems a tad narcissistic, no? And isn't it better to hear it from a 3rd party? Well, here's what the sources are saying:
The Internet: "A day without [her] is like a day without sunshine" (www.thesurrealist.co.uk/slogan.cgi?)
The Zodiac: "She is honest, frank, loyal, open and sincere. She has good judgment, a good memory. She is intelligent, imaginative, vivacious and develops all through life. She is a dreamer, with lots of imagination: she likes the Arts. She is brave and knows how to take risks, has the courage of her convictions, is honest , imposing and sharp. She has a great sense of and respect for justice. Organizational sense. Selectivity in friends, but is not influenced by them. Taste for splendor. She is balanced, at ease with herself and gets on very well with her parents. Her company is appreciated"
My Dad: "She is my favorite daughter." (I may or may not be his only daughter)
God: "I love her! She's Family." (John 17:20-27)
Oh, and remember Friendster? I pulled this from back in the day (spelling errors are credited to authors) -
~From ES: "she's deep and coherent in thought. i think she is secretly of another era, a time when people were kind and gentle. i like to imagine her in a prior life sipping tea amongst her ladies in wating, who she treated respectfully as equals. someone give this girl an award, i think she deserves one."
~From PG: "I'll just say that she's a sticky, tricky wonderfully persnickity hippie, who may seem a bit finicky or picky, but is actually a down home, good old dicky possibly hiding under necklace - a small and cryptic hickey."
~From SM: "When I first met her I thought she was this sweet, kinda quiet, do-the-right-thing-said-Spike kinda young thing. How wrong I was! While she may not walk loudly, she continues to carry the big stick - which is a razor sharp wit she cradles lovingly in her hand ready to hurtle it in whatever direction deserves it most. She has cracked me up a number of times and almost cracked my ribs - the last part due to her incredible strength and talents and squeezing the ever-loving life out of me via a lace up corset."
Now see, wasn't that endlessly more valuable? ;)

The first things people usually notice about me
I have very fair skin. I prefer the term "porcelain" to "albino." ;)
I have almost controllable, naturally curly hair.
My eyes are Blue. Blue without the aid of contacts. I call the color "genetic blue."
Personality-wise:
I'm a sweet southern girl.... despite the fact that my accent is now almost non-existent.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books: Blue Like Jazz, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, The Harry Potter Books, anything Austen or Fitzgerald.
Just finished 'Sophie's World,' and I have a LONG list of books in queue - from pillars of classic literature to books on quantum physics
Movies: Impromptu, Walk the Line, The Princess Bride, Gone With the Wind, It's a Wonderful Life, Amelie, The Philadelphia Story, all (and by all I mean "most") things Christopher Guest, Muppets, Disney, and several more that I am too wise to admit to on here. ;)
TV: I don't tend to watch a lot of television (especially primetime) as I'm usually out and about. However, I am a total PBS nerd. I also like both incarnations of The Office and have a soft place in my heart for several late 80's - early 90s sitcoms.
Music tastes are too extensive and broad to list, but let's just say my ipod represents almost all genres except gangsta rap & heavy metal
I also REALLY love Vespas!
The six things I could never do without
my closest friends
my parents
Devachan hair products (not vain, just necessary!)
the music that makes up the soundtrack to my life
Sleep
Jesus
I spend a lot of time thinking about
- Traveling
- music, musicians, musicals, musings....
- How to be more like Jesus....and how to be more like Emma Thompson
- All the classes/lessons I would take if I didn't have to work for a living
- how I shouldn't be spending so much time thinking about phrases involving the words "me" or "I"
- what I'm doing tomorrow
- how to save the world
On a typical Friday night I am
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I'm also trying to break my addition to Coke. As in Coca Cola. I was fine until they had to reintroduce Vanilla Coke. Blast you soda makers! I will conquer your sweet deliciousness!
You should message me if

THE SMALLER, YET STILL RELEVANT THOUGHT:
Let's face the ugly truth kids, we live in a world where appearances matter. Now, I'm not saying that the world has to think that you are model-hot for you to email me (not at all actually), but it is important to me that you care about your body and that you take care of yourself. I'm guessing (just a wild guess here) that you are going to want me to find you desirable if you are interested in messaging me. My hope is you are reading this as honesty (which is how it's meant) and not superficiality (which is how it may appear). So, in short - do those things your mamma told you to do: comb your hair, brush your teeth, eat your veggies...and then drop me a line.
