My self-summary
I’m a decade-long NYC resident with a laundry list of hole-in-the-wall restaurants and dive bars. More Brooklyn than Manhattan. I’m originally from New Jersey.

If you’re looking for the best cheeseburger in the city, I’m your guy.

Judging by the rest of this site, I'm supposed to use this space to talk about how much I love to travel. I do, traveling's all kinds of fun, but I don't have a bunch of meaningful pictures of my journey to Thailand.
What I’m doing with my life
I’m a filmmaker, a photographer, a teacher, a tour guide, and a grad student. Some of those things are actual jobs. I always seem to have more than one job, it’s kinda my thing. In the past I’ve been a touring theater tech, a designer, a shopkeeper, a marketing executive, and, one memorable afternoon, a carny.
I’m really good at
I make people laugh over drinks.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
This is a stupid question. How about favorites for the year.
(note: these are things I discovered in 2012, not necessarily new in 2012) UPDATED FOR 2013!!!

Film: Damsels in Distress; Moonrise Kingdom; Safety Not Guaranteed, Your Sister's Sister, Sleepwalk with Me
2013: Violet and Daisy, How to Make Movies at Home, Francis, more to come.

Books: Player One (Coupland); Hard-boiled Wonderland and the End of the World (Murakami); Falling Sideways (Tom Holt); Agrofabulous! (Sara Benicasa)
2103: Divine Comedies (Tom Holt); Everybody Was So Young (Amanda Veill); 40 Watts to Nowhere (Sue Carpenter); Grub (Elise Blackwell)

Television: Girls, Don't Trust the B- in Apt 23, The Newsroom, Bent, Ben and Kate, Warehouse 13
2013: Brooklyn 99; Sleepy Hollow

Theater: The Gob Squad Presents: Andy Warhol's Kitchen
2013: Meh.

Food: Trying to hold to the "new for '12" motif is leaving me a little short here... so I'm gonna go with the little mini poptarts at Starbucks
2013: Raw Food Restaurants
The six things I could never do without
Good pens, paper, strong coffee, conversation, time to think, and good friends who come through in a pinch.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Storytelling. Really. I'm constantly in my head, working out plots, characters, dialogue.

And, hot dogs. Crif dogs usually.
On a typical Friday night I am
In a decent, dark bar, not to loud to talk, with friends sitting around a solid wooden table.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Once I climbed/fell over an 8 foot gate somewhere downtown to check out a sculpture garden my friend insisted was on the other side. As it turns out, I tumbled into a church trash area. Thankfully, I climb quickly.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 25–36
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
You tell jokes. Some are terrible. You don't care.

Bonus points for glasses.
