Yes, those are all things that do not describe me in the slightest.

In a room of big personalities I'm the quiet one in the corner with a smile and the occasional bit of repartee to add to the conversation. Among the quiet I'm the loud, exuberant one with boundless energy.

I'm different things to different people, and in saying all this, I'm fully aware that this is the biggest load of shite I've ever written.

But then, these self-descriptive bits are basically advertising yourself to people, and everyone knows that ads are always full of shit anyway.

I'm studying for a degree in Microbiology at UCD. Other than that I'm just trying to enjoy life and figure out what I want to do with the rest of it. I have a few ideas, but I haven't formed any definite plans beyond five years in the future.

On the side, I work as an English teacher.

Listening, apparently. People often end up telling me very private stuff without actually knowing me for very long. Their secrets are safe with me though, because I also never pass gossip on.

I'm also pretty good at coming up with solutions to problems. These solutions tend to be either absurdly simple or ridiculously over-complex. No middle ground.

It's unfortunate, but I'm usually fairly guarded and quiet around folks I don't know very well. But gain my trust and there's a whole other level just waiting to be discovered. You'll have to forgive me for sounding somewhat like a travel brochure.

Favourite Books: Anything by Jasper Fforde, Terry Pratchett, Iain Banks. I quite like Douglas Coupland and George R. R. Martin as well. Other than that, I tend to read a fair bit.

Favourite Movies: I'm trying to work my way through the top 250 movies on IMDb, but for favourites, it has to be The Shawshank Redemption and Groundhog Day.

Shows: Arrested Development, The IT Crowd, Community, Game of Thrones, etc.

Music: I have some fairly eclectic tastes, from Deadmau5 to Pink Floyd, and Motörhead to Adele. I don't pay too much attention to genre, if I enjoy a band's music, I'm going to listen to them.

Food: I love good food, and I enjoy cooking too. A well-made pizza, or a good steak, properly cooked, are probably my two favourite things to eat. Given the choice, I'd probably go for an extra helping of main course over dessert. I'm also adventurous when it comes to food, I'll try most anything once.

Music, films, good friends, a nice drink, good food and interesting conversations.

Hypothetical situations with wildly varying degrees of likelihood. All the way from being mugged to waking up with god-like powers.
Also, I spend a lot of time thinking about the stuff that people take for granted or ignore.

I don't really have a typical Friday night. It depends what everyone's doing. If what everyone is doing happens to be nothing at all, then generally I'll be at home reading or messing about on the internet.

It particularly tickles your fancy.
