My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
He who lives the most interesting life wins.

This is the philosophy I have adopted for my life. It’s all about living an interesting life. For me what is interesting is knowledge gained by new people, places, ideas and experiences. What makes these things really interesting though is how you apply this knowledge. In order for your life to be truly interesting you have to be doing something with it that inspires you.

So I am here looking for interesting people to have interesting interactions with.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I've been working a counter human trafficking project for the last two years. It's been working out so well that the government just funded the largest every counter human trafficking project based on my teams work, and I'm one of the lead engineers on it.

Also, I spend the month of August every year building the network for the worlds largest volunteer refugee camp, Burningman. It turns out this is one of the best ways to learn about and try new technologies that can then be applied to developing countries. For example, the network I ran in rural Afghanistan was drastically improved by what I learned from the Burningman network.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My height is probably it. I am nearly two meters tall for those of you who speak metric. I do have a very deep voice so people on the phone comment on that a lot. Appearance and the like aside, I am often very outgoing and am not afraid to speak my mind and I'm told that stands out.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Authors: Brandon Sanderson, Gregory David Roberts and Heinlein to name three.

Movies: Princess Mononoke (Anything Miyazaki)

Music: Electronic, except dub-step. I've been DJing for over 10 years now and I can get into just about any electronic music, but dub-step makes me want to be elsewhere. Any live music is also good.

Foods: Japanese. I'm a sushi nut, love the stuff. I even make it on occasion. The best Ramen place in the world is in San Francisco...

Comics: XKCD is amazing!

Anime: I am obsessed with One Piece. It's the longest running anime series and is my favorite 20 minutes of the week.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Nakama (Friends is kind of a translation)
Books
Music
Water (not just for drinking)
Adventure
Physical Affection

Most if these improve when combined.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
People, what makes them tick, why do they do what they do and what makes them happy. I love people watching in bars, human mating rituals are hilarious and you get a great vantage point from the DJ booth.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I've kind of given up on the concept of personal privacy in this digital age, and I'm strangely ok with that.

I have several new piercings that have not made it into photos yet. These include my septum, and several in the top of my ear.

I really like to talk to people who are in action working on projects that inspire them. To me doing something that inspires you is just about the most important thing in life. So if you are up to something with your life, I want to hear about it.

If you are not doing something that inspires you but want to be, that's an interesting conversation too.
