My Self-Summary
Hello out there!
My personal goal is to find a way to appear to be cultured, but not
pretentious. Sophisticated in a way that is subdued, but
approachable? I'm not sure how to put it into words.
Working full time at a technology company as test
engineer (I make hardware and
software break!) and enjoy it very much. In the off time I try to
mix it up; seeing live music, playing in a pickup league of
kickball, reading various genres of books. I listen to a wide
variety of music, alternative, metal, hip hop, garage punk and few
other sub categories. I also enjoy social psychology and political
discussions.
I'm in decent physical shape and exercise at a gym regularly. I
drink alcohol socially, don't smoke, and don't have any kids. I've
never been married. I don't have pets right now because I tend to
travel a bit for work, and I wouldn't want to leave them
alone!
I'm looking an affectionate woman who can laugh and tell a joke or
two, appreciates literary works, a sense of humor, and the guts to
show it! Someone who I can be friends with first, who has some
overlapping interests with mine.
On a side note, I realize that my profile kind of totally really
sucks. I'm not sure the exact reasons why, but it's a hunch
I have. Maybe it's too direct? I feel its a bit mechanical, when
I'm not really like that. I am not a robot! If someone has a
suggestion or feedback, please don't hesitate.
What I’m doing with my life
Trying to figure out where I'd go for vacation. Have an idea? Send
it to me! I'm thinking pacific north west.
Update: Went to Japan instead. Next I'm thinking Europe.
Trying to get into better physical shape then I currently am. I'm
at around 180#s but I can't do nearly as many pull ups as I should
be able to!
Moving into software development officially at the company I work
for. Love to write some code.
I’m really good at
Dry humor, telling a good yarn, technical things (computers,
mechanical). Finding ways to make strange situations occur around
me.
Memorizing weird facts, trivia, and happenstance.
Finding the devil in the details.
Smiling at strangers for reasons that are not obvious.
The first things people usually notice about me
I smile a hole bunch, particularly if I'm day dreaming.
That I'm a bit inquisitive. I like finding out about who you are,
what you're up to, etc.
Visually, it's that I tend to have different levels of facial hair
any given time. I go from smooth, to scruffy, to
i-need-to-really-shave-right-now in too short of a time. I don't
like shaving very much as I'm not very good at it. I'll do it to
dress up or impress someone, but all too often it just proves that
I too, bleed red blood. :(
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
My favorite books are social behavior books. Love Terry Pratchett,
Orson Scott Card, Isaac Asimov, David Weber and some other Scifi
and Fantasy authors.
5th element, Big Trouble in Little China, most tongue-in-cheek
movies are fun. Eternal sunshine of the spotless Mind, Seven
Samurai, old Godzilla movies. MST3K, other dorky past times.
Bush, Foo Fighters, KRS-one, The Line, Ratatat, Mumblemix, Dead
Milkmen, and more. I make mix CDs of what I'm listening to, and
either keep them for myself or hand em out. I secretly believe the
music I listen to is better then the music you listen to. :)
Italian is my favorite, and I know of several good places to get
some in the local area, as well cook a few dishes. I've also
developed what I call, 'sandwich theory', a set of guidelines to
make the perfectly proportioned sandwich in terms of flavor,
texture, and overall deliciousness.
The six things I could never do without
A/C, the internet, my imagination, at least 4 hours of sleep,
caffeine, and Python programming language. Yes I am a big dork.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How I can improve my quality of living. How to buy clothes without
clothes shopping. What's going on the next weekend. How many holes
will fit into the ground if I had a shovel.
On a typical Friday night I am
Spending time with friends and family, going to see live music,
playing some pool or foosball, or just watching a movie.
Planning on how to be free.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I often forget how old I am. I usually think I'm one or two years
older, or that I just turned 20.
You should message me if
Know where I should vacation, or...
Know who Terry Pratchett is, or...
Know what Python is (The language), or...
Have a distinct taste for geeks.
