I suck at time management. Getting a grip on time is a daily
struggle for me. Some people may hate me over this, because I ditch
their birthday parties :P
My greatest passion is for
languages. I love making an assortment
of nonsense understandable. I love it when people mistake me for
non-Israeli. I love it when people stand next to me, speak and
think I don't understand what they say. Bueno, están equivocados,
amigos míos. Y gracias por complementar mis tetas.
I've promised myself I'd be fluent in 4 languages by the age of 30.
I have 2.5 so far and a year to go, so I think I am doing pretty
well.
My favorite character in literature is, undoubtedly, Raskolnikov
from "Crime and Punishment". I am fascinated by his internal
struggles and thoughts. More than any other character, Raskolnikov
reminds me of me… He is a mirror image; his actions, his reactions,
his speech patterns and thought process - all are uncannily like
me... What I love and have always struggled to be is someone who
completely follows any belief to its logical conclusion.
Raskolnikov never half-assed anything. I admire that.
My favorite biblical character is Saul. The poor peasant did not
want to become a king, yet was thrust into the job and ended up
alone, afraid and isolated on a battlefield where even his servant
wasn't willing to help him out of his misery. For me he touches
deep, in the question of why bad things happen to good
people...
I started talking at the age of 9 months.
I spoke in the masculine form until the age of 6, imitating my
older brother.
If I could kill by thought, I'd kill every taxi driver I
encountered, and some of my army commanders (I'm joking. I
wouldn't. But I hate them).
My first crush was on Kidd Video, the lead singer and guitarist in
the 1984 NBC cartoon (out of the flip side:) ).
One of the happiest days of my life so far was my 25th birthday, my
first time in falling snow on Milford track, New Zealand.
I love
hiking. My
dream destination changes with my mood. I'd love to go to central
America, most probably Panama or Costa Rica. They look like amazing
places for exploring the outdoors.
I am crazy about
dogs. I miss Julie, our mixed Belgium
shepherd who passed away two years ago. I enjoy dogs of my friends
until again I have one of my own.
I am of Iraqi descent!
I love men who enjoy
food. There is nothing sexier on this earth
than a man enjoying his steak.
The first time I got drunk was at 10th grade. Keren Dolev invited
me over to her place after school. She mixed orange juice with
tequila and let me have it. I went home dizzy and pleased.
I dyed my hair blue at the age of 15.
I played the violin for years.
I hate pretentious people. My first impulse is to burst their
bubble. It bothers me to death when these people talk to me about
coffee in a manner that reflects how much more they know about
coffee, and that they would only purchase the best of the best
because that is the only thing good enough for them... The people I
respect the most are the most humble people I know.
I have always enjoyed having
friends overseas. They used to be my
penpals, and then my IRC friends and now I get to know them on
facebook. Some of those friendships are years long and are very
dear to me. Some of them I have met in real life. I enjoy finding
commonly shared themes or traits with people on the other side of
the globe.
Standing at the crossroads of life.
verbal expression. Words.
my smile (based on a comprehensive response of very many people).
I read mainly
non-fiction; autobiographies,
biographies, travel, history, current affairs and essentially
anything which makes me think and feel! However a fiction book
worth mentioning is "Life Before Us" by Romain Gary (Originally in
French; La Vie devant soi). This is one of the most touching books
I have ever read, a book about life and about what it means to be
human. I look at the world differently after having read it.
