I LOVE to laugh. My friends say I'm a happy energetic fun person (and i'd mostly agree with them). I am a nerd albeit, i'm not sure what genre of nerd i fall into. I am a church-going, PC game-playing overextended part-time teaching academic lab rat, bar fly, part-time student that's trained to save your life. I'm kind of loud, klutzy, dorky pseudo-extroverted yet drawn to awkward or uncomfortable-looking people (i always wonder if they are hiding some glorious secret that no one has bothered to ask) although I have been called a social butterfly and can hold my own in any social group. I talk....a lot, but that doesn't make me a horrible listener. I'm very emphatic, so i tend to be concerned w/ how others are feeling. I don't need to be the center of attention and I'd like for everyone in the room to be as happy as me!

I picked up and moved to Baltimore almost 6 years ago, to make my fortune (LOL) in the academic/biotech industry, so i'm very self-sufficient but totally open /ready to love! I am a huge romantic (envision passionate dark dramatic gothic novel like wuthering heights, although i do realize i wouldn't particularly want to be in such a tumultuous relationship).

FYI, I love music a lot. Music has the ability to entirely change a mood, increase your heartbeat, make you cry, make you smile....it's powerful stuff, man.

I also LOVE movies.

I have a fierce love for PC games and I personally play Sim2 when I have time (and miss it when I don't have time). Although i'll have Sim2 marathons that can last for days, I am not a sit on the couch all day kind of girl...
I like to run and i try to run enough to be able to do the occasional 5K when the spirit hits me. I recently re-discovered a love for lap swimming! i actually get excited just thinking about it.

My faith in God is really important to me but I'm not a theological bully. I hope that the joy people see in my eyes, my smile and my life exemplifies Christ-like attributes, but I am also skeptical of conservative Christianity and inflexible thinking.

Working in a academic lab doing research on diabetes, teaching part-time at community college and trying to get into a physician's assistant program which means taking classes, volunteering at clinics, and shadowing health care professionals . I got my EMT-B certification in May so now i'm looking forward to riding in ambulances and saving people's lives, too!

Yes, i'm busy, but i ALWAYS make time for my friends and get out at least once a week to spend time hanging w/ my friends at our favorite pub.

I don't really have one favorite anything, but here's what I tend to like or have liked before:
The Historian is massive delicious tome that is absolutely worth reading. The Counte of Monte Cristo, Wuthering Heights, the Bible (an continuous and ongoing source of knowlege and inspiration).

Movies-most movies but favs are Garden State, Matrix movies, LOTR, Amelie, Silence of the Lambs, Being John Malkovich, the Pianist, Amistad, Eternal Sunshine of the spotless mind, Crash, Love Actually, Sideways, Napoleon Dynamite, The Royal Tenenbaums, Fight Club, Adaptation, Office space, Juno, the Usual Suspects, Wes Anderson and Coen brother movies, foreign films, documentaries, superhero movies, and romantic comedies.
On my tube: Arrested Development, Seinfeld, Battlestar Galatica, Grey's Anatomy, Firefly, Lost and anything on BRAVO are pretty typical standards for me.

Music Music Music: The Killers. Favorite voice right now is Sara Bareilles. Other lovable acts: Wyclef Jean, John Mayer, Keane, Jack Johnson, Bloc Party, Imogen Heap, Arcade Fire, Sigor Ros, Gavin Degraw, Citizen Cope, Ray LaMontagne, Otis Redding, Nina Simone, the Fray. Just discovered the Avett Brothers...What's on my radio? NPR 99% of the time, the rest of the time it's the local college station, top-40 for perspective, my ipod or silence.

FOod is a passionate thing for me: Love Japanese, Chinese, Thai, Indian, Vegan and Vegetarian Fair, Farmer's Markets, Mexican, American, Afghani, Ethiopian....There's not too much I don't love about food. One of my fav things to do is get a couple people together and go try a new restaurant for dinner. I am very connected to food... There are few publicly acceptable truly visceral experiences like eating delicious food. While being a very individual and private experience, food is also and intensely social experience as well. What is not to love about getting around a table w/ one or more people and sharing something delicious?

Romance, my friends, lazy days w/ a loved one, the SIms2, books, music, yummy food, and taking pictures of things (yes, i realize i named more than 6 things but i don't like the restriction. isn't 8 better than six anyway?).

dumb random semi-pointless daydreamy stuff. then i think/ realize i'm being unproductive, so i start thinking about what i should be doing....then i maybe start doing what that thing is.

I'm out with my friends and/or home on the couch, depending on the week! Out w/ friends = trip to the local pub for some venting, socializing, jukebox and pool playing. innocent fun. I'm usually kind of tired by Friday though, so, I like to just relax, laugh, and get to bed before 2am.

I think /envision myself with a guy who's a little bit of a dork but says NO to Comic-con, super smart but not in a know-it-all way, quirky, maybe a bit reserved yet loving, opinionated, a little bit sarcastic but not at all demeaning, isn't afraid of being the 'nice' guy or not-like-everyone-else, likes to spend time with your friends in a relaxed bar atmosphere (read : not out-of-control crazy drunk), but just as happy hanging with me on a comfy sofa at home (but doesn't live on his couch or in his computer chair), someone who can maybe open my eyes to something new,someone who could encourage my to accomplish my goals, loves food but is neither glutton nor the health police, has a passion for something (besides me), wants to join me in some of my endeavors, but also has his own endeavors to pursue w/o me (2 lives coming together, not 1.5), funny, light-hearted AND believes in God( read: Christian).
