I love animals of all kinds, and presently own a cat.

I'm a bit of a cynic about some things, but I think of it as being realistic, and I don't dwell on those topics much. I look for, and usually find the good in people and situations.

I consider myself spiritual, and don't feel I need to belong to any organized religion to have a connection with a higher power. I find value in many traditions, and try to respect other's beliefs, and only ask for the same consideration.

I'm on permanent disability due to a disk problem, and though on a small fixed income I do pretty well for myself.

I'm somewhat intelligent, although I've usually been an under achiever, not as concerned with the material world as I am with the world of ideas. I'm a thinker-philosopher, and enjoy looking for the infinite possibilities in this Universe.

I have a good, as well as broad, sense of humor, and can laugh at the absurdities of life as well as my self.

I don't seek out the dance floor, but enjoy the closeness of slow dancing.

My musical taste is eclectic, ranging from Medieval to early 20th century Classical, Pop, Rock, Jazz, Blues, Bluegrass, Acoustic, New Age, etc. I also play the guitar, piano, and recorder, and am often asked to play solo. (So low that others can't here me)

My friends say I'm kind, friendly, caring, and a good listener, among other things.

I have a wide area of interests including the sciences, the arts, history, philosophy, and metaphysics. I also love the outdoors, and like to hike, camp, canoe, etc., when the body permits it. I'm in my element when communing with the natural world. It rejuvenates my spirit and soul.

About My Match

I'm looking for someone who is warm, caring and loving, who's able to tolerate my flaws as well as I think I tolerate other people's shortcomings.

I would like something close to an equal partnership, with few control issues. Someone's who's values and interests are somewhat similar, but with enough differences to keep things interesting so we can learn and grow together.

I'm intelligent, but don't consider myself an intellectual. (Bad connotation) I like someone I can have intelligent conversations with on a wide variety of subjects.

I don't drink, and I don't mind if other's do as long as they are moderate about it.

The heart and soul is where the real beauty of a person lies, but I wouldn't complain if I found that beauty in a pleasing physical form either. A pretty face, and anywhere from slim to some extra lbs is fine with me.

I'm a one-woman man, and when I'm with the one I love I am very empathic, and sensitive to her feeling and needs. I love cuddling, kissing, holding hands, and caressing-all those tactile things. A single touch often says much more than words can. I'm by no means clingy though, and enjoy alone time too.

One more thing-I believe being best friends is the foundation for the best relationships.
