loyal and honest and I can be a contrarian at times. :)
I enjoy traveling, and have been to several countries and much of
the US. I was lucky enough to get to Italy once (so far!), and part
of my heart belongs to Peru, where I lived briefly in the
mid-90's.
I am strong, goofy, serious, passionate, sweet, intelligent,
competitive, and independent. I listen to NPR and am a casual
sports fan. I have a great family and wonderful friends. I enjoy
traveling, reading, banter, intimacy, theatre, food, and
movies.
I'm looking for confidence, kindness, intelligence, wit, patience,
and a great sense of humor. Please have your own priorities, and
consider making me one of them. You won't expect me to spend every
second with you, but won't mind if I call you at work now and then.

What I'm doing with my life
I'm working at a hospital, in the Intensive Care Units, and loving
it, although it's pretty, well - intense. I just bought a condo!
I'm hanging out with my 1-yo nephew and 3-yo niece when I get the
chance. I'm exploring a different city in Mexico for a week in
April every year.

I'm an avid reader. Recently read: Mystic River, Water for
Elephants, Roots, the James Bond series, several Cormac McCarthy
books, Tess of the D'Urbervilles. I enjoy Harry Potter but am not
obsessed.
I'm an idiot when it comes to music - I know what I like when I hear it but I don't really keep track of specific artists. I love listening to music but I don't frequent concerts and I don't listen to a lot of top-40. I own a wide variety of CDs, the most common of which are 70s-80s (Fleetwood Mac, Eurythmics, Elton John, Queen) and Latin music. I own the soundtrack for Wicked. :)
I love movies. Netflix is awesome.
Simply put, I like to eat. I am not a food snob, and I eat some pretty boring meals sometimes, but food is one of the best ways to experience a new culture or to celebrate. Food can be social or sensual. I love chocolate, fresh-baked bread, burgers from the grill and just about every food genre. Alcohol (rare): margaritas and gin gimlets. I adore the smell of coffee but rarely drink it - coffee ice cream is dreamy.

The most private thing I'm willing to admit here
Not really private because it's obvious if you meet me in person,
but I have difficulty walking and use a wheelchair. I enjoy being
active, but if it's a jogging partner you're looking for, I'm not
your girl. I want to say this upfront because I don't want anyone
to feel sabotaged, and even though I'd like to think it doesn't
matter, I know that for some people it does.
