I'm an attractive, healthy, professionally successful guy.
What I’m doing with my life
I firmly believe that life is what you make it. I make something
happen each day that makes it a little different from every other
I’m really good at
Reading, writing essays, playing the piano, learning something new
every day; crossword puzzles, pulling trivial facts out of the back
of my mind, drinking wine, traveling, biking/walking/hiking,
watching movies, musicals, and plays;
pondering/considering/philosophizing, taking care of animals.
The first things people usually notice about me
The very first thing people usually notice about me is that I'm
tall, confident, smart, and funny.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I read whenever I have a few spare minutes. Switching to ebooks a
few years ago may have saved me from an appearance on the TV series
"Hoarders". What do other people do with all of their books?
I like Mad Men on AMC. It's fun to see the ways society has changed
in 50 years, both positively and negatively. I just wish Don Draper
would stop dressing like me. It's annoying. I'm really annoyed that
Breaking Bad is over.
When I have a night free, I like to find good local bands. What's
better on a summer night than sitting at an outside table in
downtown Champaign and listening to a band? Every April I attend
Ebertfest, and the rest of the year I go to the movies on a regular
basis. In a typical year, I catch a dozen or so performances at
Krannert Center. Once in a while, I go out of town for a concert or
the theater. I've been to concerts in Chicago, St. Louis, and
Indianapolis in the last few months, and have more coming up.
On a typical Friday night I am
sitting at an outdoor table having dinner at Big Grove Tavern, as a
live band plays on the patio.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I sometimes watch Millionaire Matchmaker on the Bravo network.
You should message me if
you have a positive attitude and a good sense of humor.
