My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
If you think of yourself as "normal, average, ordinary, typical", please keep looking. I am none of those, and have no interest in ever acting as though I am.

I'm romantic, outspoken, outgoing, introspective, affectionate, intelligent, passionate, and inquisitive. I love to dancehikeplayeatdrinklearnmakeandcook.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Used to be an optical engineer, but now I write software to keep people on trains from meeting other people on other trains. On the platform is where they should meet!

Also, for fun I teach classes on ancient languages, historical costume, knot-tying, beer brewing, wild plant identification, wild mushroom identification, and I teach my dog very good manners.

But I'm lacking a best-friend-with-breasts to snuggle with and walk beside. There's an empty space beside me that Dexter, and all my friends combined, just can't occupy.

I'd love to have kids, but at my age, it's unlikely. So, I enjoy friend's kids by proxy, and act like a child as much as possible (except behind the wheel, at work, while spending money... come to think of it, I don't have enough occasion to do it). If you're not interested in having kids, that's no deal-breaker, but if you don't enjoy being around kids, keep clicking on other guys' profiles.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Bleh, boring question. Time for some poetry!

I was a Flower of the mountain yes when I put the rose in my hair like the Andalusian girls used or shall I wear a red yes and how he kissed me under the Moorish wall and I thought well as well him as another and then I asked him with my eyes to ask again yes and then he asked me would I yes to say yes my mountain flower and first I put my arms around him yes and drew him down to me so he could feel my breasts all perfume yes and his heart was going like mad and yes I said yes I will Yes.

My dark brown eyes... unless it's dark, in which case it's my laugh... unless my dog is with me, because he's even prettier than I am. And better mannered.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I don't read much nonfiction, and even less TV, but I have been enjoying The Riches, Archer, and *LOVED* the Battlestar Galactica remake. The Killing is a new series my roommate hooked me on last night...

My favorite music is bluesjazzreggaepoprapbluegrassswingbigbandinstrumentalclassicaloperaamericansongbookmusicalsrockabillyaltcountry. And blues. I really love blues. And everything ever done by Rusted Root, Bob Marley, Garfunkel and Oates, Ze Frank, Louis Armstrong, Flight of the Conchords, Pomplamoose, and Joan Miro (I hear music when I see his work).

And my favorite food is anything that's not chicken-fried, overcooked peas, overcooked spinach, bluegill, or black walnuts (which technically aren't food, I'm pretty sure, but I thought I'd mention it to be safe). Especially if it's spicy, ethnic, exotic, well-done, or otherwise neato.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Sacred cow steaks, beauty, a keen sense of joie de vivre, too-loud laughter, my dog, and the love of friends.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Well, not a lot of time, but..... I'm curious. Do you consider a first meeting with someone from a dating site to be "a date"? If it's just coffee? Or if it's dinner or a walk?

Words. Everyone uses them differently. They don't define us, but they do help shape our contours.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Well, tonight... A walk in the autumn rain with my dog. I towel him off, and we end up on the couch. I watch a movie, and he sleeps content. There's room for you here, too. Fall nights are for snuggling.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit

You think of yourself as smart, attractive, and pretty damned cool, even if not everyone has noticed yet. You don't want to be average. You love affection of all kinds - from friends, kids, dogs, but especially your man. Seriously: I'm big on humans talking with their touch.
