My Notes edit

My self-summary

Remember those really annoying "Under Contruction" signs that used to be all over the internet in the '90s? Imagine two of them here. With a bar across the page. And "Under Construction" blinking obnoxiously.

I'm finally done with the Hotel California that is the University of Georgia.

I'm comfortable with almost any other opinion, as long as it includes a healthy dose of tolerance - but that doesn't mean I won't strenuously disagree with it.

I enjoy saying underused words (like fisticuffs!) Not because I'm trying to be pretentious or arrogant, but because underused words usually sound cool.

The little comparison bars on the right are flawed. Flawed, I tell you! I am not "Republican"!

In the interest of full disclosure, I am a teapot atheist (look up Russell's Teapot.) I view religion as a Bad Thing due to its dogmatic outlooks and its inevitable conflicts with science - but I generally won't start bitching to people about it unless they have no way of being offended by it. I am quite willing, however, to have calm rational discussions about the subject with anyone who wishes to.

I like tattoos, and I like piercings - both on myself in certain styles, and frequently on other people. I currently have one of each, and I will, in all likelihood, end up with more of both.

It's uncomfortable using "I" in so many sentences.

What I'm doing with my life

Wondering what the hell I'm supposed to do with a BS in math.

From the really short-term perspective, I'm gaming and picking up road biking as a hobby. And as a sole means of transportation

P.S.: I don't really pay attention to QuickMatch, but OkC keeps telling me I should. Therefore: I'm NegativeK.

I'm really good at

Computers, math, logic. Learning. Memorization. Working under pressure (probably due to procrastination.) Juggling three (well, I'm decently good at it..)

Armwaves (though I probably couldn't dance to save my life.)

And since this profile makes me feel like I'm selling myself, I'm really bad at:

Art. Being comfortable around people I don't know. Procrastinating (as in, I do it too much.) Following through with projects.

The first thing(s) people usually notice about me

My shaved head. My septum retainer, if they don't think it consists of two bunches of shiny nosehair. Assuming it's not hidden. Or my vague disregard for fashion.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

The Wheel of Time. Hard sci-fi, like Nancy Kress's Beggars in Spain, Stephen Baxter's Manifold Space and Manifold Time, or Carl Sagan's Contact (really, really good.) Long fantasy series are better. Kill the Body, The Head Will Fall by Rene Denfeld. I'm desperately in need of more books..

I'm sorry, I'm not a huge movie fan. There are some I like more than others, but none that make me jump around for joy. For non-interactive AV entertainment, though, I'm all about Numb3rs. That show _does_ make me jump around for joy.

I've been hitting the breakbeats pretty hard recently (PLUG ALERT: www.breaks.fm END PLUG ALERT) - as well as Nine Inch Nails. Trent Reznor's music gets better and better the more you listen to it. It's almost fractal in nature.. I also have to have some jazz (Dave Brubeck is the man) sometimes, or something similar. And Boogie Woogie. Memphis Slim is, quite simply, the man.

Cajun (mmm, crawfish.) Asian. Mexican. Steak. Something made up. Something with flavor, and lots of it.

The six things I could never do without

Text, close friends (corny, but going almost a year without any peers drove me pretty batty,) music, something (almost _anything_) academic, hot baths, and.. My bicycle.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Philosophy. Daydreams. Physics. Whether I'm doing the right thing with my life. Hell, anything.

Or, to be a bit more specific, religion and it's influences on the world. See the above regarding atheism.

As of recent, morals and ethics. I've started analyzing really insignificant actions that I could take from a moral standpoint and deciding what the right course to take is. Not in a high and mighty manner, but in an academic exercise manner.

The most private thing I'm willing to admit here

I want to learn to swing dance, but I've never danced a real step in my life (kicking ass at nerd-dancing in DDR doesn't count.)

You should message me if

You're reading this.

Yeah, that's all it takes. Can't promise I'll respond, though.

Slacker.
