My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm a freelance musician/composer. Have lived in nyc since '92 and been fortunate enough to travel quite a bit and play all kinds of music, everything from broadway shows to country music. It certainly has its up and downs but I love expressing beauty through sound.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Well, life has become a little complicated the past few years because of some family medical issues. Previous to that, I was simply a carefree busy freelance musician...jaunting around the city/globe trying to play cool and interesting music as often as possible, working with rock/pop stars here and there and making weird records that seem to resonate deeply with some people.

Lately, I travel back and forth between my family's home helping to take care of my family and make music when there's time. This is admittedly not the light hearted banter one probably wants to read in such a setting but it is what I'm choosing to do with my life. Although personally, I don't consider taking care of family a choice. It's just what one does when the situation presents itself.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Have been told that I'm a good listener which can admittedly be a curse at times. It does tend to attract crazy folks sometimes, like cats are drawn to centered people...who are allergic to them. Oh yeah, I'm really good at breaking out in hives and not being able to breathe around cats by the way, not always but sometimes.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm on the tall side so that would probably be first...from a distance. As one approaches, they might notice that I'm a rather quiet and gentle person.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Yikes, where to start. We'll go with the sweeping view perhaps. I like trying new cuisines but am always up for japanese, thai or well...anything tasty.

Definitely like books...Salinger, Bukowski, McCullers, Plath, Vidal, Zinn, Chomsky, Huxley etc. are some favorites.

Big fan of documentaries and film in general. Have nothing against seeing a blockbuster if the popcorn is tasty but do greatly prefer Lars Von Trier to Michael Bay.

Hmm, here's a recent listening list if that helps...Jon Hassell, Joachim Cooder, Marvin Gaye, Juliette Commagere, Bjork, Rebecca Martin, Steely Dan, Bill Withers, Stina Nordenstam, Miles Davis, Bowie, Nick Drake, Peter Gabriel, Sheila Chandra

Completely forgot about tv shows on the first pass at this profile thing. Well, Deadwood was pretty darn amazing. Also like The Wire, Breaking Bad, The Larry Sanders Show, The Office (both versions), Extras, Lilyhammer, Parks and Recreation, Louie, Idiot Abroad, Eastbound and Down, Fishing with John and some others that I'm surely forgetting right now...
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
-delicious food to eat whether it's a new experience or a comforting reminder of times past
-beautiful sounds to hear
-the smell of nature
-soft velvety stuff to touch
-places and faces both new and familiar to the eyes
-a less pretentious way of describing the five senses
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Whether I was supposed to have a random encounter with the love of my life ten minutes ago but it didn't happen because I opted to try and think of something clever to say here.

Why someone would read my profile and then message me with "what's happenin playa?".

Ok, I don't really spend a lot of time processing either of those but they both did just happen.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm somewhat mortified that I'm typing and hitting "save" on a dating site.
