I'm a very laid back guy with a penchant for the off-beat aspects
of life.
As far as who I am and/or what I like to do... Well, I live on my
own in the mass suburbia area known as Ashburn, Virginia. It's
quiet, but sometimes I wish it was a bit louder. I appreciate both
aspects of city life and smaller town life, thus the Ashburn area.
I love to hike, regardless of the weather. Lately I've been
practicing guitar a lot, working on material. I play in two bands,
one is a solo thing that would take me a lifetime to explain. I
used to play in a band that actually played live, but I grew out of
that. Free beer does not a good morning make...
I'm also a pretty big hockey fan, and I adore the Montréal
Canadiens. A goal in life is to see them play in Montréal. Along
with that, I love travel, and have an endless list of places to go.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Last book read was "Atlas Shrugged," and now I'm reading "The
Complete Works of Tacitus." I also enjoy works by Thomas Paine,
William Blake, Jean-Baptiste Poquelin/Molière, Plato, and
miscellaneous biographies and books regarding history. It's hard
for me to get into standard fictional works.
Movies include Amelie, The Sting, The Assassination of Jesse James By The Coward Robert Ford, Monty Python flicks, most Kevin Smith works for the incredible dialogue, and THX 1138. It'd be way too hard to list everything I like.
As for music, it's quite random depending on the season. I enjoy classical, European folk, rock, metal, post-rock, electronic, blues, jazz, improv jam, and more. I tend to collect CDs and vinyl, so I'm at over 1,000 now (used to be 2,500). My current playlist involves Alcest, Anathema, Solefald, Pain, Ulver, Die Apokalyptischen Reiter, and some other stuff I'm forgetting.
Food, well I love foreign cuisine. I'm always up for eating at any kind of restaurant, and I'm particularly fond of Lebanese/Turkish, Greek, German, Argentine, Japanese, French, Italian, and good old Mexican. I'll eat pretty much anything except for seafood or sour cream.
