I am strange, robotic, and lovey dovey.
My Self-Summary
Yada yada yada.
Writing is what I do to wind down. I have only really written short
stories--poetry is not my forte. As of late, I'm writing about the
effects of color and dream like states. I love dreaming and lots of
bold colors.
Researching psychological phenomenons is a bit of a dork thing to
do, but I seem to really enjoy every sense of the lifestyle. I'm
fascinated about twin and gender studies
Random things-- cumulus clouds and volcanoes. Oh, and I used to
collect national geographic pamphlets on different animals. Thus, I
like random animal information too. You know, lemurs are really
interesting--they rub their sweat glands on their enemies.
So let's see. I like to help others all the time. Without doing so,
I feel like I'm not living life. I especially like helping others
through artistic outlets because I think it is completely healthy
and amazing. Funny thing is that I can't really paint well. It all
turns out to be a blob.
I'm also very proud of what I call my faux band entitled the
Snacks. We are pretty vulgour and sweet--kind of like Sour Patch
Kids candy. My sister plays the xylophone and an organ she got from
goodwill, my friend kelly jo rocks out the guitar, and I pretend I
play the harmonica, sing and tambourine.
I guess that's it! High Five!
What I’m doing with my life
I am recently doing non-profit work, working as a case manager for
the homeless population. I have a second job/hobby that involves
doing after school art projects with kids. I'm interested in art
therapy for my masters, but I'm just not sure yet. I want to travel
sooooo much more, so I'm confused.
I’m really good at
Turning awkward into awesome.
The first things people usually notice about me
Unfortunately, it has to do with my blue eyes all the time. I need
a little more umph.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
That's a mouthful! Literally! I love all kinds of food. I'm very
interested in learning how to cook all things vegetarian. My last
adventure was a black bean burger. I just bought the Mastering the
Art of French Cooking by Julia Childs, so we'll see if I can tackle
that. These days, anything with some good and cheap wine is pretty
fine.
Why is the music question always hard? I know I like waking up to
blues in the morning before work. Billie Holiday always makes me
nostalgic of something, probably wanting to sleep more. The grunge
era seems to be creeping back in my life. I especially heart the
Cranberries, Blind Melon, and Smashing Pumpkins. As for the new
stuff, I have been into Pheonix, Beirut, Sufjan Stevens, Santogold,
Passion Pit, and lots more that makes me dance in my pants? Ah, I
could go on, but that's lame these days, I guess.
Books. Whew. I feel like I'm writing one. Just finished Sedaris'
recent book. I laughed out loud on the subway a lot. I like a lot
of dark and dramatic stuff. Shelley's Frankenstein is a good
example of that.
Movies. So I think I like a lot of independent films. I pretty much
have fallen in love with Charlie Kaufman's films. Wes Anderson is
amazing at detail and colors. David Lynch is creepy and lovely.
Almovodar is top notch.
Again, lists are kind of dumb, but that's the gist.
The six things I could never do without
1. A communication device.
2. Strong Coffee.
3. A good, warm blanket.
4. Southern Food.
5. Hugs.
6. Things to look at.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Existentialism.
On a typical Friday night I am
Going to some random party and cultivating a plan with my best
friend which usually ends up in a pretentious bar with lots of red
lipstick and hipster mullets. Why does this always happen? We don't
know. However, the music seems to be always fun, and a dance party
tends to form. Afterwards, we'll go home and munch on our favorite,
thematic snack: Diet Lime Coke and Hint of Lime Tortillas. Yum.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I like to facebook. Ugh.
You should message me if
You're down like julia brown.
