My self-summary
Artist exploring the my inner and outer landscapes with help from various mythologies of the African Diaspora and my penchant for queer activism. I like to make up songs and enjoy getting angry in a productive way. I have been known to fuss but I am never rude to people, really not into bigotry. Just started a punk band called SCREAMING TOENAIL next gig on April the 27th.

I am also a curator/event organiser www.jacobvjoyce.com
What I’m doing with my life
Exploring how to combat the oppresive structures that dominate our social and political landscapes

Just won arts council funding to curate a programme of art, public discussions, and performances Taking place at Art Nouveau Brixton from 1 - 14 May, Survival Guides will delve into local black history, look gentrification squarely in the eye, think fluidly about queer sexuality and shake up fixed notions of gender identity. Film screenings that chronicle Brixton’s squatted communities and sustainability workshops for all ages. Survival Guides will culminate with a performance evening at Brixton East celebrating the journey and struggles of the West African and Afro-Cuban deities.

I’m really good at
Sculpting, drawing, Puns, morning joyousness, finding a middle ground, playing devils advocate, conjuring hypotheticals, organising other people: not myself, listening, digging and of course, shamelessly self promoting, while speaking in japanese and breakdancing to a beat that im beatboxing as I lick my elbows.

best case scenarios and worst case scenarios.
On a typical Friday night I am
These days I am usually working on something on a Friday night but when I am not you'll find me drinking with my mates going some where cheap and fun or dancing in my living room with my housemates and our curious assortment of friends, whilst drunkenly debating matters of imperative urgency such as
time travel
body hair
chicken vs egg
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
sometime i feel lonely even when I am with my friends, lovers and families. And that is so hard to admit that i think i will probably delete it pretty soon.
