I am dramatic, complicated, and stupendous.

My Self-Summary

Self summaries are annoying aren't they? I think that everybody on here feels the same about writing them, it's a sort of hatred. However...

I am open to just about anything.
I don't judge people.
I have a very even temperament so I rarely end up in arguments, and I have a tendancy of looking at things from all angles so I can usually see where someone else is coming from.
I'm not afraid to admit when I'm wrong.
I'm an intellectual at heart and am always interested in learning about other people's pursuits that I have no background in, so even if I start off having nothing in common with someone, I rectify that by learning about the things they're passionate about.
I write. I paint. I enjoy arts and crafts. I read anything and everything somewhat voraciously. The same goes for music.

And that little box to the right that says I'm agnostic used to say I was atheist, but I figured I'd better change it now that I've been ordained online in the Agnostic Church. I suppose I'm both, but it doesn't give me the option of putting in both a religious standpoint AND a philosophical one.

******UPDATE******
I am now engaged to OzFinngeek. We met here on OKCupid. To all those people who don't look at those match percentages, trust them... those percentages are spot on.

What I’m doing with my life

Wasting it.

No, really. I'm so interested in everything that I can't settle on one thing to pursue, so I have ended up in the sort of occupation that requires very little in the way of background skills.

Someday I will get all my writing published. Someday my paintings will hang in galleries all over the world. Someday I will take the leap, do the work, and get the dozen or so degrees that I want. But for now, I'm a production worker...

I’m really good at

Coming up with stupid one liners.

Actually, I think that's my greatest talent.

However, I also paint (you can see my work at http://ashkara2001.deviantart.com/) and write. Poetry mainly... for those that are mildly amused by things that sometimes rhyme (but not always), you can read it at http://poetrypoem.com/ashkara

The first things people usually notice about me

I have a mohawk. Don't worry, it's hair. It grows back.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books... Fiction includes sci-fi, fantasy, horror, and virtually anything else that falls in my lap. Non-fiction tends to be used university texts that I pick up from second-hand bookstores. I don't really mind which course...

Movies... much the same as my book choices. I do have a love of sci-fi, but if it's a movie I haven't seen I will watch it no matter what genre or language it happens to be in.

Music... eclectic. Folk, classical, metal, new romantic, goth, industrial, and all other levels of the spectrum of musical accomplishment. I must say I'm not hugely fond of hip-hop, and techno sometimes does strange things to my head...

Food... Shellfish will decorate my skin with pretty red patches. Anything else is fair game.

The six things I could never do without

A large piece of black plastic (about 2m square should do), a hunting knife, rope, a sewing needle, a piece of flint, and a bowl.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Deep things. Octopi and other things with more than 4 legs. Barnacles. Banana slugs and apophallation (look it up, it's fascinating). Considering unusual contortion techniques. Sex. What to buy people for Christmas. Quantum Field Theory. How to make things in my kitchen go bang. I have a random head which considers most things rather randomly.

On a typical Friday night I am

hairy and howling at the moon.

Either that or I'm wasting it in front of the computer.

I spend the first half of it working. Friday nights are just bad all around. Saturday nights, however, are a different story.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

My life is somewhat bizzarre, improbable, soap operatic, and horrendously unbelievable. I have hundreds of anecdotes about various things which have happened to me, however once someone reaches about the tenth anecdote or so they decide that I simply have a fertile imagination. They're right, I do have a fertile imagination, but unfortunately my anecdotes all happen to be true.

You should message me if

you have information on the imminent end of the world.
