Hi! I'm a video game designer and martial artist who loves running around and keeping active. I really like horror films, metal, cartoons, Wuxia films and vegan food. Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri and even after almost 10 years in southern California, I still don't consider myself a Californian, probably never will.

What I'm doing with my life Propose an edit

I'm often very busy with work, and then teaching Jiu Jitsuon the side. Free time goes to soccer, volleyball, softball, martial arts training and if I manage to tire myself out, horror and action movies, anime, video games, playing guitar and reading (mainly sci-fi and non-fiction). I also cook a lot.

Long term goals involve work. I take video games very seriously, and hope that I can contribute to their breaking through as a more respected medium. I have an education in film, and often wish that the work I do with games could be as valued as it would be in the film industry.

I'm also fairly invested in my jiu jitsu school. It's daunting teaching something people might need in a life or death situation, but the experience of sharing something that I love so much is very rewarding.

If this is more than you were hoping to learn about a person on a dating site, I just figured that I'd be better off explaining what I'm really about and scaring people off early on.

Cooking! I love to cook and love to experiment with new recipes, though almost always vegan.

Games! Video, board games or just general competitive stuff, I love to learn new games, compete, and explore new spaces and rules etc. I tend to nerd out pretty hard on these experiences, but I'm much more about enjoying the time than winning.

I'm tall (6'2), so that tends to stand out a bit. I have my ears pierced/gauged too, and I do get a lot of complements on whatever configuration of facial hair I have going at the moment.

Movies: Starship Troopers, A Flight of Dragons, Fist of Legend, Ong Bak, The Protector, Clerks, American Psycho, 28 Days Later, Sunshine, The Host, Perfume: The Story of a Murderer, Hot Fuzz, Chan Wook Park films, Miike films, Kitano Takeshi films, Ryuhei Kitamura films, and Satoshi Kon films.

Music: Curl Up And Die, Botch, Mike Patton, Propagandhi, Tanya Taqag, Protest the Hero, Emerson Lake and Palmer, Psyopus, Dillenger Escape Plan, Whitechapel, Death From Above 1979, Al Green, The Protomen, and The Ocean.

Food: Vegan stuff! Homemade tacos, hummus, gnocchi, tea, nachos, stir-fry with nearly any combination of vegetables and sauces, Indian, Vietnamese, Soy ice cream and anything from Thuyen Vien.

Working late if my game needs me, catching a movie with friends, coming home to play some games, or taking a night to cook something to bring myself back to life after a long week.

I rock out hardcore in my car. The combination of often being excited about where I'm going and being stuck in a small metal box for an extended period of time mean that I end up flailing around to whatever I have playing. If you've seen a guy rocking out in his black toyota, or going nuts with some air drums, it might have been me.
