My kayak cuts swiftly through the ocean waters. Paddling through
grottos and pools with cliffs towering above... It would be
peaceful - if it weren't for the sharks circling below in the clear
Yes, boating in shark-infested waters near San Diego is fun, but
you'll often find me hiking Torrey Pines or shooting it out on the
basketball court. And nothing gets my heart pumping faster than
interval training and weight lifting.
Travel inspires me to immerse myself in new cultures... let's just
say, I'm not a "sit by the pool" kind of guy. Seeing thoroughbred
horses in Austria, eating fresh pasta in Italy, and hiking in the
Swiss mountains - I've been a lot of places, but my bucket list is
still growing. Next up though, is a trip I've planned to scuba dive
at the Great Barrier Reef.
I'm grateful to have a career that excites me *almost* as much as
traveling the world. I do research in a biology lab, working with a
team to create renewable energy sources from plants. We use yeast
to break down plant matter into alcohol - which is also how beer
and wine are made (so yes, our first drinks are on me).

Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I just finished reading "The Happiness of Pursuit". It's all about
enjoying the process of reaching for your goals, and not just the
end result. Want to borrow my copy? You'll find Weezer and Smashing
Pumpkins on my playlist, and I enjoy suspense movies that keep you
guessing. I like sushi, duck, and food made to be eaten with

My passport - which has more stamps than your average post office.
My sense of humor. My Kindle. My gym membership. A rocking
playlist. I'm taking applications for the sixth ;)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Where I'm going next - will it be back to Australia, to scuba dive
the Great Barrier Reef? Or Scotland, to tour the golf courses by
day, and the historic distilleries by night?
On a typical Friday night I am
