My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
(NOTE: I could not take seriously the questions that decide my Match percentages. As a result, those questions will only help you to discern my sense of humor, and little else. If you want to know something, ask me. Maybe conversation can tell you if we'll like each other.) Well, I'm funny, brilliant and honest all the time. I hear those traits are in, this season. I'm nerdy, but in a really good kind of way. I'm kind and caring, and I have excellent grammar skills. I like to try new things, except when it comes to food. I have monthly income, and I have an apartment with a roommate. I drive. I had a very bad break-up and haven't dated in years. In truth, I'm not even sure I want to, though once in a while, someone catches my eye. With so many projects going on, it would be nice to meet someone who shares my curiosity as to how awesome the world may get.

There's this old episode of 'Ren & Stimpy' in which the title characters are exploring Dimension X. They find many things, like where all of the left socks go when you put them in the laundry. At the end of the episode, Stimpy points out (rather emphatically) that if they don't leave soon, they will implode. Ren is less than happy with this. They find the last bus out, but they don't have exact change. The bus driver is kind of a dick. So, they are left to their doom. The episode end with Stimpy realizing, as their body parts disappear one by one, that he had a big bag of change the whole time. This haunted me these many years, and is an apt metaphor for my life.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm trying out new things, like learning a new musical instrument and how to draw. I'm getting more fresh air and exercise. I'm going to continue my education. Finally having the opportunity to live for myself, I'm looking for that next great horizon.

I'm really looking for somebody with whom I can share the future, but it's almost to the point where I would settle for someone replying to a message, if only to say why they aren't interested. I'm quickly losing faith in this website...
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I am a passable writer. I'm good at learning new things, and trying to advance my mind a little further, every day. I'm adept at crossword puzzles and naming movie quotes.

I'm really good at listening, and not just waiting for my turn to talk. I honestly care about what people have to say; otherwise, I really could just stay home and play video games. I like to be challenged, and I would like to meet someone who can keep up.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
That would have to be my frame. I'm 6'1", and I weigh 145lbs. I never put on weight. And that I'm a genuinely caring person. People notice my smile. And I love hats; lots and lots of hats!
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I'm a big Neal Stephenson fan, when it comes to books. Snow Crash, Cryptonomicon and the Baroque Cycle prequel series were fantastic. I love science fiction (NOTE: the lack of a hyphen between 'science' and 'fiction' is meant to imply that I am not referring to Science-Fiction, but, rather, fiction about science.) I also love Science-Fiction. Psychology, self-help and instructional books are among my favorites (Anything "... for Dummies" is awesome to read!) I'm really into Greek mythology, with Athena my favorite of the gods. Also, The Dresden Files series has been brought to my attention.

I enjoy just about every kind of movie. Action, drama, even foreign films are capable of holding my attention. I really enjoy the new fascination that the film industry seems to have for the comic book industry. Comic books already portray the utterly fantastic, so the next logical step would be for filmmakers to put that into action. I love 80s and 90s fantasy, like Labyrinth and Willow. I miss Jim Henson. It seems many people who read this can't guess I'm a nerd. I do enjoy me some Star Trek/Wars.

British sci-fi really turns me on, with shows like Doctor Who and Torchwood leading the market. The premium cable dramas are really making their mark, as well. Californication, for instance, I find to be an absolutely awesome show. I wish there were fewer reality shows on television, but I guess I'll have to live with it. I heart Adventure Time like crazy! So math.

I love mash-ups! I'm sorry, but I heard the 'Boulevard of Broken Dreams'/'Wonderwall' mash-up and fell in love with music, all over again. Other than that, every genre of music has something I love. I really mean this, too. Some people say, "I like all kinds of music, except Country!" But, no one can listen to 'Thunder Rolls' by Garth Brooks and not sing along. It's a statistical fact. But, I like a lot of new music floating around. It's like there's been a resurgence of what I loved in the nineties. 'Of Monsters and Men' is quickly becoming one of my favorite bands. 'Metric' is also a favorite.

I'd rather not discuss food, if that's okay with you. I don't think that what type of food a person likes should, in any way, dictate how compatible they are with anyone.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. The Internet: Aside from being the best means of communication available, it's the canvas I will use to own the world's face.

2. Honesty: I never lie, and I really don't like being lied to. I understand that dishonesty has uses, some of which might even be benevolent. I just don't like it.

3. Personal Freedom: Even though I may not do much with it, I do like to know that I can go out and do whatever I like.

4. Really good conversation. I love to learn new things, and I love to teach new things. People seem to view conversation as little more than a tool with which to sway the views of others. While this is a use for the spoken word, the main purpose of rhetoric is as a means of connecting people. I spent a large part of my life wanting to teach people. Now, I'd rather just connect.

5. Beauty. I love that shit, and find it anywhere I can. Especially in smiles.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
I'm kinda lonely. But, so is everyone here, one would suppose. I dunno, I'm kinda facing the world, now. Most of my crap is in order, now, and I have no reason left to fail but myself. I'm kinda Mary Tyler Moore-ing this whole thing, and I'm honestly scared. What am I gonna do? What am I gonna BE? Does anyone else feel that way?

I like to think about nearly anything, from Will Smith's early music career to RNA-based life on early Earth. I've been a big fan of the fMRI for some time, and love learning about the brain. Also, how insects breathe. I'm big on learning.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Practicing the electric bass, working on drawing better, maybe going for a bike ride or driving around, playing some video games, chatting on the internet, sleepy time.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm not sure of anything and the world is very big. I spend more time than I should just trying to cover up how nervous I am about the whole universe being largely out of my control.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You'd like to meet someone honest and genuinely caring of other people. Someone who wants to start living, and someone you might be able to guide. Someone who can teach you new things as well. Someone with whom you might share hours of silence, interrupted only with glances and smiles. You should message me with questions about anything. If you just want someone with whom you might chat a while. You should message me if you want to be special, for at least a little while. And I like clingy girls. At least three texts a day.
