I am an officer in the United States Marine Corps. I love my job and am very proud of the corps. I worked extremely hard to get where I am and am very thankful to be in the position I am in.

I like to take in the small things in life and try to appreciate my journey. I believe that in order to have a whole life, you should learn to enjoy yourself as a whole. Good and bad. Hopefully my journey will take me some place meaningful.

I am originally from a small suburb of Chicago on the north shore. I moved to Utah when I was 15 for skiing, literally. Skiing is a really big part of my life. I can actually say that it changed it.

I am a huge history buff and studied mostly Middle Eastern, Asian, and US history for my History major. When I was a little kid I was into classic civilizations like Greece and Rome. I still find them interesting, I have just moved onto more contemporary studies of recent conflict.

Last but not least, I love going out to soccer games. I have been a season ticket holder for Real Salt Lake since their founding, and now that I live in DC I am a member of La Norte. Tailgating and chanting all game long is how I do!

I am heading to Logistics Officer's Course in June. In my spare time I head up to DC on the weekends. I have very busy work weeks, so I need to escape base.

Drawing from my vast knowledge of obscure pop culture references. Pushing through pain like it is nothing. Not taking myself too seriously. Writing about just about anything(the pen is mightier.) I can ride a bike like dogs are chasing me. I can climb a mountain like a goat, and ski down like flowing water. I am also amazing at getting free stuff. Everywhere I go people give me things; free room upgrades, free appetizers, free desert, free tours. All you have to do is be a nice guy!

My amazing ass. Seriously, it is prolifically awesome. It is probably the main reason I can tear it up on a road bike, and climb mountains with ease. I like to think, if I lived in the Middle Ages, a minstrel would follow me around singing songs about the greatness of my buttocks.

I am just genetically predisposed to have a huge butt. I have a runner's body, so if you are looking for the hulk you best get to steppin'!

Currently reading: The Brothers Karamozov by Dostoyevsky A classic about morality and religion.
Favorite books: Seven Pillars of Wisdom, Guns Germs and Steel, Inside the Jihad, Dune, Pride and Prejudice,and I just finished Drift.
Favorite Movies: Empire Strikes Back, Lawrence of Arabia, 2001, Role Models, The Cable Guy, and 12 Angry Men.
Favorite Music: Bomb the Music Industry, John Mayer, Third Eye Blind, Amon Amarth, Andrew WK, Bob Marley, Ryan Adams, Luke Bryan, and The Bruisers.
Favorite Food: Pretty much any fish, Mexican(real Mexican, not American Mexican), my Grandma's special spinach recipe, my Mom's chicken pot pie.

Utah. Seriously, I think about home and skiing and how much I miss it. Why is it so damn hot here? Where will my next bike ride be?

Hanging with my civilian friends in DC. Probably out in AdMo or Columbia Heights. Wonderland is my favorite bar.

I love So You Think You Can Dance? Good show, really! I also think that musicals are awesome. Jesus Christ!

I sincerely hope that you don't have low standards. Believe it or not, most people know the difference between your and you're, most people can employ the Oxford comma, and most people like to "have fun." You're setting the bar pretty low here ladies.
I am leaving DC in June to go to North Carolina for 3 months and then... I have no idea where I will be.
