I'm a writer, a father, a musician, a reporter, a romantic, an activist. I'm relatively new to the online dating thing (and not exactly sold on it so far, to be honest), but my sis says it's what the cool kids do nowadays. Friends would say I'm an unusual mix : I have a laid-back but strong personality; I am a world traveler but also something of a homebody; I'm a politically engaged intellectual who rocks out in a garage band. I do revere New Orleans though, so you get extra credit if you've spent much time there, or if you want to visit sometime soon....maybe with me?

Days, I'm working for social justice and climate survival. Nights, I'm with my daughter, writing, playing music or hanging with friends.

Right now I'm trying to get the rest of the band to learn, really learn, "Lovesong" by The Cure: "Whenever I'm alone with you, you make me feel like I am home again...." I'm also loving a neglected old gem of Dylan's, "Emotionally Yours." Like I said, a romantic....

As for books, maybe the nicest thing about being a writer is that I can read books and plausibly tell myself I'm working. I won't list all the ones I admire here, as that could take hours; suffice to say, I adore books, and if you do too, we'll have something fundamental, endlessly fresh and beautiful in common. Movies too, for that matter, though I don't make those myself....

Food? I like pretty much all kinds, and I can cook.

Every other Friday is movie night with my daughter. On the other weekends, anything goes.
