I'm a recent college graduate who just moved to the Decatur area. A
lot of my friends are either still in school or have moved away
after graduation, so I would love to meet some new people my
My general world view is that life is amazing, everyone is
wonderful, and everything is great.
I frequently make jokes at inappropriate times.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm a consultant, so I travel quite a bit. It's tiring but also
fulfilling. I probably won't remain a consultant in the long run,
because the travel makes it difficult to maintain relationships,
but it's a good experience for now.
I’m really good at
Making people laugh. I do sometimes have a habit of telling jokes
in inappropriate situations though (funerals, the bedroom, you name
The first things people usually notice about me
Probably my eyes or my smile (since I'm almost always smiling).
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: I love fantasy. Wheel of Time is probably my favorite
overall, but I love LOTR and Harry Potter and a bunch of others as
well. I'm currently reading the Way of Kings and really enjoying
it. Outside of fantasy, I love some classics (esp F Scott
Fitzgerald stuff), plus I read a lot of nonfiction about history
Movies: All time favorite is probably Lost in Translation. I see a
ton of movies though. I just saw the Spectacular Now and absolutely
Shows: Quick top 5. The Wire, The Sopranos, Game of Thrones,
Gilmore Girls, and Bunheads. That's in order from 5th to 1st.
Music: Absolutely everything. Lately I'm on a huge Jimmy Eat World
binge, because I think their latest album is incredible. Favorite
all time is probably Jack's Mannequin or Something Corporate.
Food: I love trying new places! I mostly eat around Decatur (Brick
Store, Farmburger, Iberian Pig, places like that), but I'm always
willing to try new restaurants. Any nationality of food is fine by
On a typical Friday night I am
Either hanging out on the Decatur Square or lying in bed drinking
wine straight from the bottle and watching Netflix.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
My favorite thing on Netflix is First Position, a documentary about
young ballet students, and I cry incredibly manly tears every time
Michaela performs her routine towards the end.
You should message me if
You want to talk about the ending to the Wheel of Time series. Like
please, please message me. I only know a couple other people who
have read A Memory of Light, and I have SO MANY things to say about
Other than that, message me if you know who Andrew McMahon is
without having to google him, or you live in the Decatur area and
want to hang out!
