My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
In ATL for Dragon*Con until Monday! (From Northern Virginia)

I like short walks on the beach. I double majored in Philosophy and Creative Writing. I like to think the glass is half full of inconsolable despair. I want an all-wheel drive hybrid Delorean. I would trade places with myself any day.

I care about animal rights, freedom of speech, all kinds of equality, separation of church and state, and of course (vegan) milkshakes.

I've been told I have a young face and an old soul. I'm a introvert who has a social life. I'm passionate and ambitious but also laid-back (I know that's practically a bad word on here, but screw it - it fits). I'm a minimalist with a lot of movies and board games. I'm an atheist who believes in a power greater than myself. I appreciate relaxing at home and I also like taking trips. I love all the critters in the world (people included), but that doesn't mean I want bugs to touch me.

I absolutely cannot get enough of this picture.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Keeping the X in Xmas. Starting a solipsism club. Also I’m half way to resolving Zeno’s dichotomy paradox.

My typical schedule includes yoga, twelve-step meetings, hiking, working on creative projects, hanging out with friends, and watching movies.

Plans for the next month include: DragonCon, Sleep No More, and The Pretty Reckless.

I just published a book of short stories and I'm working on a novel now.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Being the strange I want to see in the world.

I want to say communication, honesty, seeing my part in things, compromising, understanding other people's perspectives, and humility, but then I'd have to put irony too. I suppose that's fair.

Grokking.

Making bad jokes. Example:
A meta-ethics philosopher walks into a coffee shop and the barista asks "What'll you have?" The philosopher says "I don't know. What's good?"
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
What people comment on:
My eyes, my hands, my heart, and my tattoos.

What I am convinced people see first:
The cat hair that is inevitably imbedded in my clothes.

The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Intimate connections, morality, nature, entertainment, honest and open communication, and personal growth.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
When to tell my cats they are adopted. Why corporations have more rights than animals. What to read/watch next. How many people don’t understand the meaning of the word semantics.

Sleep No More. What would Jacob do (that's me). Whether I should get into geocaching. How Radio Shack is still in business. How to kill (fictional) people. That feeling you get when you have someone you truly long for in your arms.

Honestly, what I think about most is a girl named Roni who drinks too much, consistently dates men who cheat on her, and cuts herself. No, she isn't someone I'm pining for. She's the main character in the novel I'm writing and it is first person perspective. So yeah, I am living with her in my head probably more than is good for me, but it's only temporary (I hope).
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
At Vinyasa Yoga!

Then home to eat and relax, which usually involves curling up and watching a movie/tv with my cats.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I have a slight obsession with Kickstarter tabletop games.

I wear a wedding band on my right hand to symbolize the commitment I have made to myself.

I tell my cats to have a good day before I leave and then ask them how they day was when I get home.

Also I celebrated thirteen years clean in May.
