I moved to Davis on 8/22/09, so I'm a fairly new to the area.
I will be attending UC-Davis in the fall to begin my PhD in Food Science. I've lived my entire life in the midwest (Michigan and Illinois) up until now, I like the weather here much more (so far).
I’ve been on this website for a few years, I’ve met some really interesting people because of it. I go through phases of what I want to put in here, if you really want to know something about me feel free to message me. I am originally from the suburbs of Detroit. I play piano and cook quite a bit.

Two words, graduate school.

Hoarding shiny objects? I'm a decent cook, and a decent pianist too. I practice both a lot.

Most people tend to think I am younger then I am. I've been getting looks at the grocery store when I buy alcohol, especially because my drivers license is out of state. A few weeks ago at CVS the cashier thought I was 17...

A. Some books I like are The Hot Zone, Candide, 1984, and things by Anthony Bourdain. I tend to like satire, science fiction, fantasy, and non-fiction books that are written in a storytelling format.

B: I like entertaining documentaries, smart comedy, some sci-fi/fantasy, I like historical fiction with a touch of magical realism. I have a fairly eclectic DVD collection.

C: Music is good. I tend to listen to alternative, rock, alternative rock (who didn’t see that one coming), and classical. My car CD player currently has Muse and Marilyn Manson in it and I also like System of a down. I enjoy playing 19th century piano works, specifically Chopin , Beethoven, Rachmaninoff, Scriabin and Brahms.

D: I am working toward a food science degree and I cook, so this is a section I have a decided opinion on. I try to avoid fast food as much as possible, and I don’t like my food bland. I like ethnic food (Chinese, Middle Eastern, Mediterranean, etc.), and I tend to be inventive in my own kitchen. I like Belgian beer, tea, coffee, and coca-cola. I don't drink milk. My food expenses keep going up now that I'm living in California... so many amazing products!

I can't last too long without access to a piano and companionship. Other then those two, I'm not sure at the moment.

In no particular order: Friends, family, pets, my hobbies, why my fingers won’t do what I want them to do, taking over the world, women, whatever has momentarily caught my attention, cooking. I tend to think a lot and I tend to be ADD about it.

Friday is a day just like every other day, but it starts with an F. I try to not restrict what I do based on what day it is, spontaneity is my friend.

I am an honest person; very few topics are taboo for me. I really can’t think of anything specific to put in this box, suggestions are welcome.

At this point I've settled into the area enough to be looking for dating. I'm not adverse to making new friends, and I think the only way to a good relationship should having a strong friendship with the person.

Positive traits: intelligent, educated, artistic, science orientated, sex-positive, foodie, local, open minded, liberal, likes animals, atheist, agnostic, Jewish, moderate drug/alcohol usage, curvy, kinky

Traits that make me wary: uneducated, Christian, vegetarian, not local, conservative, heavy drug/alcohol usage, straightedge

Deal breaking traits: conservative Christian, vegan, physically similar to me, sex-negative, severe drug/alcohol addict

Neutral traits: Height

I'm not really interested in random hookups and one night stands. I personally find them awkward and more then a little embarrassing, I generally try to avoid getting into situations where I'm embarrassed. I enjoy making good connections with other people.
