Your Notes
Edit your notesI am compassionate, intelligent, and interesting.
My Self-Summary
I'm pretty much a world citizen, I've lived in 7 countries in my life for at least 1.5 years each: Czechoslovakia (yep, it was one country back then), Finland, Guyana, Malaysia, India, United States of America, and Singapore. Went to American international schools most of the time, but grew up with friends from around the world, so my interests and knowledge (topics of discussion) can be quite varied (see other sections for more info). I also tend to have a lot of interesting stories because of this: "the garlic bus", "having your colors done", "Bill O'Reilly", "government promoting pure marijuana joints", "the intelligent waiter", etc.
I think I'm quite compassionate and care about the people around me, the world, and animals. I've been vegan since I was 16. Don't let this scare you, I'm not going to be preaching it to you. I also used to volunteer with several organizations including the Movement for the Intellectually Disabled of Singapore when I lived there.
I love to laugh. Watching sitcoms or a funny movie at home, laughing with friends, with some nice food and drinks is a really good night. A night out at a comedy club for some improv or standup is great too. Sometimes like to go clubbing and party the night away but mostly prefer a nice bar/pub/restaurant to chat. Live music rocks!
I also think life is more about the people we meet and get to know, than the experiences we have... (I don't know if that makes sense when reading it) My favorite movie ever is "It's a Wonderful Life", perhaps those who have seen it, know what I'm talking about....
My Myers-Briggs type is: INFP and sometimes ISFP...
What I’m doing with my life
I’m really good at
The first things people usually notice about me
But eventually, people who get to know me find that I'm intelligent, friendly, caring and interesting. (this is what people have told me)
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books: To Kill a Mockingbird, 1984, Feng Shui detective series (humor) by Nuri Vitachi, Kite Runner, Bookseller of Kabul, Tipping Point, How to Win Friends and Influence People, Midnight's Children. I generally like books that make me think or where I learn something and books that make me smile or laugh.
Movies: I generally like movies, in different languages, that are intelligent or make me laugh (sometimes really stupid movies). A few action movies too. Here are some of my favorites: The Prestige, Braveheart, Lost in Translation, Batman Begins, American History X, American Beauty, Little Miss Sunshine, Monty Python series, Hotel Rwanda, No Man's Land (2001, ), La Vita e Bella, Fifth Element, Matrix 1 (only), The Rock, Chronicles of Riddick, Blood Diamond, Catch Me If You Can, Kung Fu Hustle (Chinese), Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon (Chinese), My Sassy Girl (Korean), My Wife is a Gangster (Korean), East is East, Slumdog Millionaire, Children of Heaven (Iranian), It's a Wonderful Life (A christmas/new year ritual for me), Pootie Tang, Night at the Roxbury's, Borat, Ali G In Da House. I also love animated movies like The Incredibles, and Monsters Inc. (Boo is so cute!) I'll stop here since I think that's a good represenation.
I really think TV should be in here too.
TV: Mostly comedy but also educational and food too. Daily Show with Jon Steward, Conan, David Letterman, 30 Rock, My name is Earl, Futurama, Family Guy, Southpark, American Dad, Seinfeld, Blackadder, The Office (American and UK versions), Everybody hates Chris, Iron Chef, Dinner Impossible (most of the Food Network), and the History, Discovery and National Geographic channels. I probably spend more time than I should on TV...
Music: I love lots of different kinds of music. Pop, Rock, Euro-trash, a bit of techno, but I have a weakness for the 80's! Pretty much any band from VH1's top 100 songs of the 80's. and recently been listening to quite a bit of hip-hop: Timbaland, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Flo Rida, etc. Sometimes I also like techno, jazz, pop, and rock.
Food: Mostly Asian and Indian vegan food. But also like Mexican and Italian. Prefer food with lots of flavor.
The six things I could never do without
- Friends
- A phone and a laptop with fast internet connection to keep in touch with them :)
of course the fast internet also means unlimited entertainment through games, facebook, movies, TV episodes, etc. So that's a bonus!
- Laughter
- A purpose
- Good food - if I can't find it, I'll make it ;)
Sorry, I know it must sound awfully boring, but these are the important things in life...
