My self-summary
I grew up in the suburbs and moved to the city to attend NYU. I fell in love with living here and have never left. I'm a culture and media addict and have never found anywhere that compares. Outside of that, I'm an only child, a total animal lover (Golden Retrievers especially), passionate about the arts (particularly literature, film, and music), lover of long walks, and occasional deliverer of meandering semi-coherent monologues about consciousness, time, religion, and the forces that really control our lives.
What I’m doing with my life
I am a novelist and screenwriter.
I’m really good at
Writing. Listening. Retaining gobs of film dialogue. Spinning grand theories. Keeping up my end of a conversation. I also know a lot about ancient Sumerian culture and the KGB.
The first things people usually notice about me
How dark my hair is compared to my green eyes.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Movies: A tough one. Easier to probably go with directors. Michael Mann, Paul Schrader (Mishima in particular), Ridley Scott, William Friedkin, Abel Ferrara, Bunuel, Brian De Palma, Argento, Bertolucci, Verhoeven, Peckinpah, Michael Powell, Kathryn Bigelow (I liked her back when she was making Near Dark and Strange Days), Antonioni, Hitchcock (Particularly the holy trinity of Rear Window, Vertigo and Psycho), Polanski, early Godard, Cronenberg, Bresson, Welles, Soderbergh, Bela Tarr (he just doesn't give a shit if he entertains you and I like that). Even though they haven't made a bunch of movies yet, I have enjoyed Gaspar Noe and Nicolas Winding Refn. If I won Power Ball I would track down Richard Stanley and give him the money to direct anything he wanted.

Books: Favorite book of all time is Lowry's Under The Volcano. Martin Amis, J.G. Ballard, Thomas Mann, Artaud, Genet, Burroughs, Celine, Blanchot, Bataille, Huysmans, Robert Stone, Dostoevsky, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer, Huxley, Baudelaire, Pascal, Derek Raymond, Graham Greene, Michel Houellebecq (actually just loved Elementary Particles, but I loved it enough to put him on the list of favorites). James Joyce -- best prose writer ever, has to be said. Also, anything involving a realistic/credible dystopian or future universe.

Shows: I'm a fickle TV watcher. But what I've seen as of late, I love The Killing, Breaking Bad, Luther.

Music: Opera (Wagner, Berg) Classical (Love Shostakovich and Stravinsky), I am an obsessive collector of film scores from all era's (particularly the Golden and Silver Age). In terms of bands: Depeche Mode (Yeah I know), Chromatics, HEALTH, Nine Inch Nails (I know I'm still in high school), Coil, Massive Attack, Suicide, Michael Bundt, The Misfits, The Germs, Neu, Public Image Ltd, Ministry, M83, Tangerine Dream, Joy Division, Bowie, Iggy Pop, Brian Eno, New Order, Phillip Glass (oddly his film scores), Poly Styrene, Popul Voh, Wire, Psychic TV, Purity Ring CREEP, Salem....alot!

Food: Willing to try anything, but have never been able to form a love for curry.
The six things I could never do without
Caffeine, Books, iPod, Conspiracy Theories, Dogs, Friends/Family. Oh...and I saw someone else put this in their profile, and it's the truest thing I've seen on here: air conditioning. And yeah...sex.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What stories to write next and how to become better at writing in general. Oh -- and who killed Kennedy.
On a typical Friday night I am
Either working, going to a movie, dining with friends, or if all else falls -- getting blotto and sleeping until Sunday.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Sometimes I still sleep with the lights on.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 22–43
  • Near me
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating, activity partners, casual sex
You should message me if
If you liked any of what you read above. If you want to know who I think killed Kennedy.
