My self-summary
I'm agonna state first off that I take these questions way too seriously, and that only slightly represents my in-person self. So be forewarned and be advised that you best meet me en la flesh to understand the massiveness of my conversational & comedic brilliance.

I can't think of one way to describe myself that wouldn't sound somewhat ridiculous. Including all of this. Let's just say I am a voracious consumer of all forms of expression - music, TV, books, film, art, etc. I love food of all kinds. I'm very liberal. I'm into intellectual pursuits but I'm also a populist so pretension is not my thing. I have a serious love/hate relationship with humans. Etc. etc. just go get a drink with me!
What I’m doing with my life
Musician, Singer/Songwriter, Actor, Vice President & Music Director of an independent film company. Manager of AV Services at the Zoo. Father of three kids who do not live with me and who I miss a ton.
I’m really good at
Music, acting, chatting, dadding, doing two things at once. Connecting to people. Being attentive to what someone I love and/or respect wants and doing my best to give it to them. Making lists of things I do. Typing with one finger or thumb. Living with the scourge of carpal tunnel.
The first things people usually notice about me
I am a human male usually wearing clothes. I like to do stuff with things. I've also been told by completely disinterested third parties that I have nice eyes, hands and smile. :) See?! And I tend to look younger than my years, at least post morning shower.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
No limits. Whatever's truly good on more than one level. There's even a whole lotta bad I like. Except pop country music and lazily recorded old standards (I'm talking about you, Rod Stewart!). I LOVE the passion with which people on OKC list dozens of faves. Mine would be in the hundreds and I just don't have the finger power for that!

BUT I've been getting more queries about throwing down some specifics. So here's a cross section in RANDOM ORDER:

Music: REC, Daniel7, U2, Beatles, Femmes, Beasties, Nirvana, Who, Death Grips, Wombats, Horrors, Futureheads, Roots, Cure, Prince, Chicago, Franz Ferdinand, Sea Pinks, Bloc Party, Brubeck, Monk, TMBG, almost anything from NOLA, tons of stuff from Britain & Scotland. Chopin, Schumann, Bach(!), Debussy, Satie, Bartok.

TV: I watch a shiteload of new shows. Let's talk. Dig USA, BBC-A, SYFY!! in general. Admit to CW, Fox, the old "big three" networks. PBS, mo' or less. Bootleg stuff from HBO, Showtime, Max (their non-porn original programming is damn good). Of course FX, AMC. Smattering of online programming. It is NOT always sunny in Philly - I should know, I was born & raised there. But AWESOME show! Daily Show, Colbert, getting seriously into Chozen lately. ATHF, Deathklok show, Adventure Time, Spongebob. ANYTHING Louis CK. Survivor with my daughter.

Reading: Dickens, Eggers, Murakami, Knife of Never Letting Go, Stephen King, non-fiction, weird shite, lots of magazines, Sunday Times.

Movies: DEALeR (look it up on Amazon Prime! using "dealer feenix" - I dare ya), Clandestine, Requiem, Lock-Load-Love, Nicky Newark, This End Up, Capra stuff, Spielberg, Scorsese, Peter Weir, Wilder.

Food: Ridiculous question. If it's not moving, I'll try it. If it's moving, give me $500 and I'll try it. Prefer it not to be raw, unless tuna/sushi. Have no dietary restrictions because life is damn short. But Tex-Mex, burgers, pan-Asian, Indian buffet!, good salad, pizza - good and bad, REAL Italian, yes fast food, home cooking - did the Pillsbury Bakeoff once. Way prefer peanut butter cookies over chocolate chip. Only eat dark chocolate because don't even joke.

Multiply all that by 30, and the music by 300, and you've got the picture.
The six things I could never do without
The telebeeseeown
Moving pictures
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Social issues
How to live the fullest life & still take care of those around me.
How to make my careers more profitable.
On a typical Friday night I am
Out with a friend - dinner and/or a gig, and a bar that's not full of loud obNOXiosos. Or just catching up on TV/movies at home. Beer in moderate quantities is generally involved.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
My first responses to this no longer apply. And the coffee hasn't kicked in yet. So let's just say if we click and are into each other for more than three dates, I'll tell you pretty much anything.
You should message me if
*You're cool with meeting up sooner rather than later. I do not at all mind chatting for a few days at most, to get a feel for things; but I much prefer an in-person meeting. There's no way to get a clear gauge of how things might go or what kind of spark there is until we meet.
*You represent yourself honestly and consistently, and have no expectations or preconceived notions. You've actually read & absorbed the first paragraph way up above, but that still doesn't scare you away from giving this a try.
*You can swim in the deep end, but love to splash around in the shallow end too.
*You think the above metaphor is both cool AND cheesy.
