I'm just a regular nerd, trying to make my way in the universe :)

My life story - short version:
Born in Russia,
Moved to Princeton, NJ when I was 4, spent most of my life there,
Spent a couple years in NH for high school. Hated that place :(
Spent 5 years in Indiana where I went to Purdue University and studied engineering and math. I loved it there, and I liked Indiana a lot too! Enough to spend an extra year there :)
After having expected to go for a career in engineering, I got an offer to work in finance in NY, and took it. Now I'm just trying to figure out what the next chapter is :)

Working as a software developer for a finance company, making new friends, trying new things!

Skiing. In NH I had the chance to join the alpine race team so even though I got started late in the sport, I had a great opportunity to get pretty good at it. Can't wait to get back on the slopes!

I have a pretty big nose.

I really like 1984, and Brave New World. Zamyatin's "We" is on my reading list but I haven't gotten around to it yet.

My absolute favorite movie is Inside Man (2006). I just liked lots of various aspects of the film, including the acting, the story, the cinematography, the music, etc.

Shows... Futurama, Firefly, House, Scrubs, ER, Star Trek The Next Generation and Star Trek Enterprise

I just recently started watching some Russian shows as well. Interni and Real'niye Patsani.

Music, I like Coldplay, Ludovico Einaudi, Gimme Shelter by Rolling Stones, Foo Fighters, Phillip Glass, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, The Cinematic Orchestra, Regina Spektor, some dubstep, some jazz, Shiny Toy Guns, just to name a few.

Food, I like steak :-D. I used to be a bit of a picky eater, but now I'll eat almost anything. Except mushrooms!

I'm not sure, I'm pretty laid back and I try to be adaptable. Lately though, I've really been missing the challenge that engineering provides. Life's just not as much fun when you don't design and make things :)

How humanity will explore space in the 21st century. With people talking about mining asteroids to set up gas stations in space, it's gonna be awesome!

Doing various things, sometimes I'm at the rock wall at the gym, or going to a lecture somewhere, maybe going out with friends to a bar, maybe just staying home and playing video games and watching a movie.

This isn't really private, but since it concerns death I guess it qualifies to be here. I want to do this before I die (it's basically the top thing on my bucket list):
